There is an addon for it called Black Silk String that shows the 'Black Vault' A.K.A the hatch.

Ya, that :) I noticed a German player on here a few days ago saying it was called the 'Black Vault'. Plus, I don't know what else it would be referring too.

i've discovered that the add-on "black silk cord" only shows the hatch or AKA "black lock" when you are the last player AKA when it's open...not at all when it's on the map and still closed
If you use the rainbow map, it tracks the hatch by default, but of course you need to meet te requirements for the hatch to spawn. (the number of generators done must be greater than the number of survivors alive. So with everyone alive you need all 5 gens, with 3 people you need 4 gens, with 2 people you need 3 gens, and if you're alone you need 2 gens done)

ps: once I had a rainbow map with the everyone sees it add-on and a range widening one, we were against a Trapper, that round was insane.

The map only shows it with addon after so many gens have been activated depending on the rmeianing survivor count and you have walked/ran nearby it after it spawned.

False. It's because it hasn't spawned if you have 4 survivors alive all gens are up then you can find the hatch using it even if it's closed

@Layarion

If the hatch was not displayed while using your map, that was because you did not walk close to it during the round (even before the hatch physically appears, its location is however randomly set at the beginning of the game)

When using the map item, walk everywhere on the arena to be sure that the hatch location has been recorded

You can obviously use addons that facilitate the discovery of monitored objects (hooks, exit-gates, gene, hatch, traps ...)

Rainbow map + "all see what you see" add-on + "extra-range" add-on is a good combo for the team :)

People really need to stop using the word "spawn" when they're talking about the hatch. It's inaccurate and it's at the point where everyone's passing on info that's outright wrong.

The Hatch exists from the beginning of the game. It only opens/can be opened depending on the number of generators and survivors left, but it's always present and can always be tracked by the map if you've encountered it. It does not "spawn" in the middle of the game.

well it "spawns/appears" after the conditions are met. Even if it is a preset location it spawns at the spot when conditions are met. I don't see why that is a problem.

1 player alive - 3 generators left
opens if
1 player alive and at least 2 generators are running(3 left)
someone opens it with a key and it's then left open

Awhile back I've made an extensive post about how the hatck (the black lock) works along with tracking it with a map.

As long as you have the "Black Silk Cord" or a map that can track the hatch, all you have to do is walk past it at least once.

Of course, it won't appear on your map until you can actually access the hatch, but it'll be recorded none the less.
