Unhooking yourself

Is it even possible or am I just having really bad luck? I've played over 24hrs to far of this game in total and never once sucessfully unhooked myself. Is there a perk I need or some thing?

I've seen people do it themselves several times, but no luck for me to do it.

It's super hard. Plus don't even try to do it in basement.

Dont try it or you will be faster dead and giving the killer an easier game. If you have a good Survivor Team then give them the chance to regroup and come for you. Just hang around and wait.

if I see someone lose health because they try to unhook themselves, I ignore them and keep repairing gens

I've managed to unhook myself about 3 times in like 15hour of gameplay i don't know but if u okay as a Killer You Will see it more often than as a survivor

I just coming from a game right now, i was a killer and I had 3 lucky survivors .. luckly for me they were all 3 hooked in basement so no way out.. biggest mistake try to unhook when hunter is close.. ruins the luck.

Killer can't damage you on the Hook please make sure your Information is decently accurate

every 1-2 game 1 get off the hook man happen more then you think

If it is really 5% chance- this means 1 in 20 times you will unhook for the hard of hearing.

But it's awesome when it actually works out! Haha. I've saved other people in the basement when we are both on hooks, or gotten away and escaped because the killer figured they would chase the last guy down. But yea it's not that often.

I usually just try if I doubt my team is gonna bother to get me and they are just sitting in closets/crouched the entire time doing nothing.

Of course you might unhook and then immediately be slapped and skewered back up again, but that makes me laugh as well.

what about if they're by a hatch and you're the only person that's preventing it from opening that's something I've found out that can be a way to ♥♥♥♥ people over in Dead by Daylight from videos on Youtube

I don't know, but I have gotten myself off the hook at least 5 times and this is when I had only a few hours in the game and didn't have any perks or offering in my favor. Once I was able to unhook myself two games in a row. Now I don't really try it and wait for people to rescue me, or at least to buy time for my team.

Is it possible to get off the hook by yourself? Yes.
But is it unlikely to happen? Definitely.

You can you do it, but you have to get really lucky.
