What was that noise?

Now, the Escape Hatch makes a quiet, kind of sparkly noise, right?

When walking by the ruined carrage house (with the pit in it with a chest inside, 3 exits, long hallway), I heard this loud, void-like woosh sound.
There was no trapdoor that I found.

I watch Galm play the game and the beta for fun, and in the same spot, on the same set peice, he gets the SAME NOISE.

Then, in an earlier vid, walking by the white-broken down house with a second floor, he gets that void noise again!

What the heck am I hearing, because the Hatch NEVER sounds like this when I am searching as a Survivor.

Could've been one of detection perk noises? One of the random ambient sounds at the edge of the maps sounds a bit like the Hatch's howling but you can differentiate them still.

But it's in the middle of the map. ANd the Hatch does not sound like howling to me. I had a friend lead me to it in a private game and it was a REALLY silent noise. Same as when I play pubs.

This is..loud.

seen this happen before, its a rare glitch that happens to hatches, if u hear the hatch noise but are not finding it, presume it to be bugged and move on, had this happen few games ago was definately the same noise for the hatch

i checked the video and that is the trapdoor sound. maybe its a bug, or maybe it didnt spawn yet?

I believe it is the bug where the hatch fails to spawn yet you still hear the sounds. In the video you linked you clearly hear the hatch open beforehand as he is about to exit the building.

That's not a bug.
Well, it'll play the sound but it wont appear until you've activated at least two generators.

So that IS the hatch noise. Odd that it never sounds that loud when I am bleeding out and searching for it so I may live! LIVE! :P Ah well.

I got three games in previous versions where the hatch didn't spawn at all. I felt awful for the last survivor who would just circle around the noise like a buzzard.
