Teach me how to JUKE please!
Title - I am trying to be a good survivor but once that killer is on me...
it's like white on rice (basmati rice) they are all over me and I can never escape.

I've tried turning sharp corners and hoping they'll go wide and me sneak past the other way - no

I've tried running behind obstacles to obscure their vision...- no they find me.

Any suggestions?
Any tips to dodge them?

Running will leave orange scratch marks so stop running as soon as you're out of their line of sight, or if you have time run one way then run back and hide. You have to keep looking back to see if you are in their line of sight. As soon as you are out of their line of sight you have a chance to hide. A good time is when the killer is setting a trap, stunned by a pallet or blinded by a flashlight, also when you turn a corner. Just running isn't going to end well most of the time. You need to get out of their line of sight or just run around objects until you get a chance to stun them with a pallet.

You could try to out smart them & while they try to take a shortcut you need to quick turn & go the over way giving a couple of seconds & maybe enough to evade them. This might mean you jump over a object & wait for them to break it or go around & either run away or jump over it again but you must time it correctly.

Think ahead and notice good spots before you need to use them. Never run in a straight line because the killer is always faster and can lunge at you with mouse hold. Sharp turns away from the killer, always plan it out so it puts more between you and him.

Don't use windows or obstacles if hes super close because he will grab you.

It just takes time to learn the ropes.

Line of Sight, do you mean the red zone that they emit?

some survivors just run thru all the obstalces and never check to see if the killer is with them or what they are doing. You need to learn to watch what the killer is doing while you're running. If he's going around to go around that wood pallet you just knocked over, go back over the pallet. Make him chase you on your terms. Unless you learn the ways to use infinite cheese loops to kite the killer, then just make it take as long as humanley possible for him to catch you. Now here is an important part. When he loses sight of you, QUIT RUNNING and see if you can duck behind something or make him lose you. There are so many times where a runner successfully jukes me and then I just follow the glowing trail to pick him back up. I learned the most about being a survivor by watching the streams that are good at doing it. (Admiral Bahroo for example makes killers rage quit all the time with his jukes). Watch them and learn from them too. Good luck to you.

The killer sees things in first person view, so whatever direction they are looking is what they can see. If the killer is looking the other way you can stand right behind him and he won't know you're there. You can sneak around when his back is turned.

See I had no idea I left a trail while running, I've played killer a few times and haven't noticed this. I will reduce running when out of range.
Cypher Jun 19, 2016 @ 8:47pm
anytime you sprint you see glowing scratches left behind as a killer. You can see it anytime people sprint and they last for awhile. So you have to stop to turn it off. Of course that means you have to slow down. Again id watch some streamers play killers or jump into one yourself to get a better feel.

Basically his line of sight is what he can see. When he can't see you any more you have a chance to hide behind something and he will have no idea where you went, unless he can follow your trail, or if you are injured and making a noise, or if you are partly visible, or if he searches the area well, but searching an area well when trying to protect generators will eat up too much of his time, so he won't search an area very well unless he knows for sure you are there, which by the time you have disappeared and he had a look around he will think you are gone.

There are a lot of great places you can hide, behind trees, rocks, etc. and if you watch him and move around the tree or rock as he moves around it, you can keep these objects between you and him and keep yourself out of his line of sight.

As SOON as a killer is stunned by a palet, or is destroying a palet, this is your chance to hide. The biggest mistake that many survivors make is that they just keep running and all i need to do is follow that delicious orange trail they leave.

Ive dropped a palet on killers, waited for them to start destroying it and i hide like 2 feet away from them, the good killers will search the area. crap killers will think its a crap survivor who probably ran off in the other direction, when in truth i was right under their nose.

Hiding is much more efficent then trying to out run a killer. Im a rank 15 killer right now, and the ones that get away are the ones who get out of my line of sight then hide somewhere, sneaky devils.

Depends on killer and what you're doing.
Running when he's on your tail = bad,

Create distance and/or break line of sight, hide in a corner

Use runtrail to confuse him by running derpy or one direction then walking the other direction and hiding.
Basillic Jun 19, 2016 @ 9:51pm
Yeah I watched bahroo play one time as killer... holy fk he's godlike lol. He has 0 issue tracking and predicting player movement.
NamThunder Jun 19, 2016 @ 10:27pm
It kinda depends on skill, prediction, timing, and luck.

You got to know where to go and where would the killer might go. You got to time your pallet pull over action so it stun the killer rather than just making him going around. And when hiding, you got to hope that the killer won't know you're there.
