As a killer, successfully sacrifice 3 persons and you'll gain a pip.
Each of the four categories you get points in is capped at 8K points. However, only a maximum of 5K points of each category will count towards the points needed to pip. 5K equals a full circle.
If you have 2500 points in all four categories, you pip.
If you have 4K in Objectives, 5K in Survival and 1K in Boldness, you pip.
If you have 7K in Objectives and 3K in Boldness, but 0 points in the others because you died, for example, you do have 10K points, but only 8K (5K as maximum from Objectives + 3K from Boldness) that count towards the pip, so you don't get one.
This was pretty useful info thanks.

This shows that i "maxed" out on boldness, got over 2.5k altruism, and 2.5k objectives with around 1250 survival points. add all the seen points via categories and you you see a minimum of 11250. the rank 10 beneath shows me at 3 pips, and gaining one pip. take note of my rank in the corner, which reflects my NEW amount of pips. 4 pips. The sooner survivors stop thinking its 5k in 2 categories, the sooner they'll be able to climb up in ranks more effeciently. I've been r! killer and R1 survivor before, and I have nearly 600 hours of gameplay at the time of me posting this. I have pipped many matches over without escaping or killing a single survior. 10k points in general is a pip. 20k WHERE THERE IS 5K IN EACH CATEGORY applies to DOUBLE pipping only. I am tired of this arguement, and i'm tired of people thinking its what is isn't.
IF you get 10k and DO NOT pip, you encountered a bug. You should report it to the devs, make a forum about. If it happens to enough people, they'll look into it. But 10k is a pip. you can have 2.5 k in all 4 categories, and pip form it.
First off: Why did you feel the need to necro this thread?
Secondly: You are wrong. If you look at your circles, you have two halves + 1 full circle and then some left-over bits. Two halves + 1 full circle totals in 2 full circles, making the bloodbar go to the first pip. All the left-over bits then add up to the second pip and make the bar go slightly farther.
