What Is The Skull Icon?

I don't mean the one that appears when someone has died from a Hook. It is a more regular shaped skull.

Is it by any chance the indicator that someone has left the game? Because the Killer was around me at the time I saw this happen so there is no way there were killed.

Yeah, you got it. Someone left the game.

Dead, but not sacrificed. So if you bleed out or something without going on a hook. For some reason it sometimes uses it when someone leaves the game, even though there's a separate unplugged cable icon for that.

It means the survivor was killed, either by the killer having a offering to allow him to straight out kill them, or he bleed out on the ground

The skull icon is an indication that someone has indeed left the game.
I've noticed it as I was powering up a generator with a survivor and after we powered it up, he had vanished out of thing air. Within a second later, a normal skull appeared above his name.

The regular shaped skull is when that child who died/got caught ragequit from the game, meaning you lost points for that kill. And probably will be deranked.

So it appears to be a bug when the player hasn't actually been killed. Thanks for clearing it up, guys.

Well, it's not necessarily a bug. If they leave the game they die. They just aren't sacrificed so no skull you're use to seeing.

Well, you can use an offering to directly kill a survivor by your hands, at which point that skull appears.

But mostly its ragequitters

I know you're getting conflicting answers, but this is my experience:
Smeary skull face = player was sacrificed.
Regular skull = dead but not sacrificed.
Disconnected plug symbol = disconnected

I know they can be outright killed, but like I said, the Killer was by me at the time.

So, yeah. Seeing as I got my answer, this topic can be locked or whatever.

I had the symbol after crawling out of the match to escape, so it's not for ragequitters. They get the diconnected wires.
