How to find generators?

So there was this one game on coldwind farm where me and one other survivor ran around for about 10 minutes trying and eventually failing to find the last generator. This is a situation that isn't unusual for me so far. Is there some way to find them faster? I actively picked up the map but I must be missing something, because I can't seem to get it to work.

What am I doing wrong?

I think the tutorial said you're supposed to look for the blinking lights? I haven't had too much trouble finding something or another to mess with.

Every generator has a lamp over it, it's easier to look for it than for the generator itself.

I'm hoping I'll get better at it with time, because in the previously mentioned games I just couldn't find any generators we didn't start already.

As someone said before each generator has a large pole with some lights hanging off of it, look for the ones that arent lit. If you still cant find any then the problem is its most likely indoors, the room with the basement in can sometimes have one in or upstairs, depending on the map :)

The map only has the generators on them after you scout them out, start of the game it is supposed to have one mapped on it, but it is glitched right now and does not work, so you have to find them in game and it adds it to your map.

There are perks and addons that can add to the scout radius of the map. and allow you to scout out and map the exits, the traps, the hooks, the hatch
