Make it a options so you and others who like 3rd person can play it and those who want first person can too.
It's a design feature. You are not getting 1st person Survivor-cam.
I am not a child. I agree with what you're saying. I actually find immersion fantastic and I would enjoy to play a few games as a survivor in first-person. However, I don't feel there is an absolute need are true demand for this. For individuals sure, add the option, but when it comes to lobbies when someone creates a game? No. Should not be forced upon, which I know you weren't saying, but this implication can be mis-inferred from your original post.
I agree with all of those who want to play 3rd person. They should never even bother to even think about first person, they should play 3rd person and enjoy it.
But for those who want the option to play in first person, they should be able to do it if they want too.
So it is a win win situiation for all involved:
1. All players can play what ever they like 3rd or first.
2. The developers make even more money if the players who only want to play in first person buy their game.
3. Everybody happy!!
Alien Isolation had no problem with first person. And its a horror game too. :)
Alien Isolation is it's own genre. The killer moves about 2% faster than players and players get a camera so they can look around. If you're fixing a generator you have to look around as well as watch for skill checks. The further progress you make, the louder the generator becomes until you can't really hear the music of where the killer is to alert you he's nearby.
An absolutely dreadful idea to remove 3rd person.
The Alien Isolation's first person perspective of the lockers and just peeping through a tiny hole makes the game a whole more "Horror" like.
The tension is far greater and the fear when the killer suddenly opens the locker would be truly frightening.
Also, when as the killer, you open the locker and find the survivor with a shocked animation... yet the Player is not shocked because they see the Killer clearly open the locker way before it actually opens. You only know you are screwed, but don't have any sense of fear. Or at least less sense of fear.

Agree.
