Background story?
I know there are the survivors bio on the website and what not, but why not add that to game?

Also, do we get more of a better background story of HOW we got in the place of nowhere and WHY the killer is doing what he is doing?

Why is he sacrifiing us to these "spider leg arms"? WHAT ARE the spider leg arms?

Is the killer human? WAS he human and now an entity? I would like to know more about them. Because it even says under one of the keys "what happen to the man under the mask". Well that's a good question.....WHAT DID HAPPEN?

And where the survivors on a camping trip ?

I would like to see some sort of narration here. Perhaps from the quotes in the game saying "lost tapes" ACTUALLY MAKE TAPES!. So I can hear voice overs that explain.

Or something better. Maybe start intro scene or something like that.

The Survivor Bio's explain why they are out there, they got rounded up more or less...

The diary entries on the bloodweb level up, seem to explain alittle. The diary author was sacrificing people, to a demonic entity for some kind of mystical/magic powers... Atleast that's what I've pieced together from it. It would seem, the killers have also come into contact with this entity, and are continuing the practice.

No they were all doing something different, when they disappeared into the woods... Also one Dev answered my lore question and stated the full game will have more lore in it.

So, essentially, each survivor has a backstory.

1. Dwight Fairfield: Dwight was geeky and scrawny through high school. He always wanted to be one of the cool kids, but somehow never had the charisma. He tried out for the football team but was cut, the basketball team didn’t even take a look and his grades were distinctly below average.

One weekend, on a team building exercise from his dead-end job, Dwight’s boss led them deep into the woods before breaking out his family recipe moonshine. Dwight remembered taking the first sip before waking up late the next morning all alone.

During the night, the others had abandoned him. Once again, the laughing stock of the community Dwight tried to hike his way out of the woods. That was the last anyone ever heard of Dwight Fairfield.

2. Meg Thomas: Perhaps it was her mother that had instilled the fierce streak in her or maybe it was her father that left them when she was a baby.

Meg excelled at schoolwork but she was off the rails. Fortunately, an athletics coach encouraged her to channel her misspent energy on the track.

She motivated herself into becoming a high school star and earned a scholarship to college. When her mother fell ill, Meg decided to give up her chance at college to care for the woman who had raised her.

One summer’s day, on a long run deep in the woods, Meg vanished. Search as they did, they never found her body.

3.Jake Park: Growing up the son of a wealthy CEO was always going to put pressure on Jake Park. When his brother graduated with honors from Yale the pressure on Jake intensified. Jake just wasn’t the academic type, but his father never really understood his refusal to embrace the expensive education he lavished up on him. Eventually, Jake rebelled by dropping out of school entirely.

Now, Jake lives off the grid on the edge of the woods. It’s been years since he spoke to his father but his mother checks in once in a while. It was her who eventually called the police.

The cops said he got lost in the woods and a search party looked for days, but gave up as bad weather rolled in. Despite passionate pleas from his mother, they never resumed the search and Jake went down in history as another casualty of the woods.

4.Claudette Morel: From the day that her parents gave Claudette her first science kit, she loved experiments. Her single minded pursuit lead to an early scholarship at a great College. It was a huge decision to leave Montreal, but the chance was too good to pass up.

Her introverted nature means that chat rooms and forums are now her best source of social interaction. Her new favourite activity is to answer botany questions for others under her new moniker of Science Girl.

One evening, during a long bus ride back from the city, Claudette took a stroll that would change her life. It only took a minute for her to get completely disorientated in the thick woods. She never found her way back. Her forum only started to wonder where she was a week after she stopped posting.

So, they all seem to have gone in to the woods to have never returned. In the game, there exists "The Entity" to which the Killer sacrifices the survivors. I remember Mathieu saying in an interview that "The Entity" was what kept the survivors in this situation, making the survivors suffer and relive the horrible hunt over and over again.

So, here's where speculation from me starts. The Entity is a supernatural being which has trapped the survivors in a different realm. The Killers may not be anything but a figment of The Entity's imagination which repeatedly hunts the survivors in multiple scenarios created by The Entity. So, essentially the situation keeps repeating because The Entity enjoys it and the survivors are trapped within its' grasps forever.

This brings me to an unanswered question. Are the survivors really alive? Sure, they seem alive and sentient and seem to be scared and bleed out. But in the real world, do they still occupy their physical bodies?

Is the situation real, or is it an alternate realm created by The Entity? Probably an alternate realm, since the bodies were never found, and transported to an alternate realm. This still doesn't answer the question about whether the survivors are alive.

What is the ultimate objective of The Entity? It should be something beyond the delight from sheer terror.

Also, there seems to be a lot of afterlife memes floating around, but I'll desist from addressing those.

Be sure to read the lore at the start of each bloodweb level as well. And the lore on different items too.

This was almost all explained on the main page I thought. The killers are real people, and have names like Evan McMillian who is the trapper. The hillbilly, however was never named.

if you read the lore notebook it explains the whole story. its actually pretty cool concept.

Pretty sure you meant the wraith, because the hillbilly is named Max Thompson

Maybe just add some kind of a notebook. Then every lore of the bloodweb levels to it as soon as someone gets them?

No he is right. The Wraith is named Philip Ojomo. The Hillbilly is an unnamed person, Max and Evelyn Thompson are known to be his parents however.

It sounds like the Entity is inspired by Purgatory and the survivors aren't really dead, but they aren't alive, either. They're stuck in Purgatory trying to find a way out.

Read the bios of the Wraith and the Hillbilly. Wraith is a foreign man named Philip Ojomo. Hillbilly is a unnamed deformed child of Max and Evelyn Thompson.

Why they did change the survivor's backstory? It was pretty better the other one...
