I dont get Distressing killer perk.
it increases your terror radius, so doesn't that mean people know you're coming from a farther distance? I dont get it, that means they can run earlier and get ahead of you. prove me wrong in the comments if you can.

Yeah thats it. Its good in combination with unnerving presence (though the perk itsself isnt really good, needs a huge buff) and it lets survivors panic fast

I only use it on the wraith, since usually your invisible when you get to people theres less of a downside and its free deviousness too

I run Distressing 3 on my hillbilly. Basically keeps survivors from doing gens because they think you're closer than you are. They may also panic more often and miss a skill check if they're constantly hearing the heartbeat.

I use it on billy and and trapper and with the meta of sabo at rank 1 and forcing you to camp 3-
4 generators (mostly on trapper) it make life alot easier keeping that side of the map clear while you set up and do your biz. Also super hilarious to run with Insideos if you want to add some cheese to their wine.

the perk also gives you more bloodpoints in the deviousness category. the point of it is to scare survivors and get them to stop working on gens/healing/sabotaging because theyll think youre nearby even though youre far away. level 3 distressing even surpasses the radius of spine chill and premonition, so it really scares survivors who depend on those perks to stay hidden.

it's an amazing perk for every killer except the Nurse. With wraith your terror radius isn't a big issue, with Hillbilly you can go from one side of the map to the other at LUDICROUS SPEED!! On Trapper it's good for keeping those pesky Jakes away from your traps. It's a great perk for helping to keep something that killers desperatley need; Map Presence.

Nobody uses Distressing, so when people do it throws both new and experienced survivors off, making them think your much closer than you actually are. Thus keeping them from doing gens, hooks, traps, ECT. The 15% bonus to Deviousness earned is amazing too but TBH even if that wasn't part of the perk i'd still use it.

Unnerving presence is a good pick for this as well, it punishes those cocky asshats that repair generators right next to you. That and the devs have admitted that A. the game is too fast currently, B. skill checks are too easy for experienced players, C. Unnerving presence is the least used perk, and finally; D. Perks that aren't used often will be "revisited and adjusted to make them more apealing". In various different streams.

Mark my words friends, the Distressing-Unnerving presence combo will be as infamous as Deerstalker and Nurses calling! Survivor mains will scream from the rooftops about it's overpowered nature! Let the rise of the Distressing and Unnerving masterace COMMENCE!!!

I run these two together on trapper and I love it. Helps make the game take a bit more time, causes people to run through my traps more often as I put them in hiding spots not the obvious spots. Failed skill checks and more often skill checks is a bonus while patrolling, etc. I think they are fun

It has pro's and con's. Survivors have a bit more time to hide, but it also prolongs the game a bit. It's good on trapper to have a bit more presence on the map early. It's also not bad on Hillbilly as he can reach a gen really fast, so the warning doesn't matter. But it keeps more people off gens during chases, as the heartbeat area is actually increased by 50%. It is noticable. When i'm playing survivor i find Distressing pretty disturbing and powerful. So i would put it in the A-tier killer perks, underrated but drastic effects on gameplay.
