Either raise montior brightness/use an offering to make it brighter. There is no brightness setting for DbD

Try your monitor setting for brightness or contrast adjustment. Also try offerings that make the moonlight brighter. Good luck :)

Game purposely has the brightness locked out as there are offerings in the game to either brighten or darken the moonlight. An in-game gamma setting would render these offerings useless.

my monitor is on full brightness , there is a way that streamers make theirs lighter though :(

Turn gamma on your monitor. Every killer using this.

They may just use some kind of overlay to lighten it up.
Recording software offer such utilities.

gratz, you discovered an intentional mechanism of this game :D
The problem with the intended design is that not all displays work the same. Some folks will see a really bright "darkest moonlight", while oothrs will see a really dark "brightest moonlight."

I don't think there is a fix for it, unless more play modes or graphical filters(film grain, etc) are added. I also commend DbD for trying to innovate. But as far as gamma goes, the game simply will be unplayable to some people.

Locking brightness is a good way.
Otherwise you would get a similar result to what we can see in multiplayer ARMA series, where nights are full of players just maxing their gamma to see in night like if they had some sort of night vision 24/7, even though it should be pitch black for them.

If you have a crappy monitor? it sucks for you.
Sun shines into your screen? it sucks for you.

Just because someone uses touchpad, doesn't mean that mouse controls are awkward, it can be a problem with your setup not the software.

They're only brightening the outgoing signal so the stream can see. It's usually done via the settings of whatever streaming software they're using (usually OBS) However, it does NOT brighten the monitor they are actually playing on. Not sure if it actually shows in their mini preview screen such as OBS uses.

Perhaps playing with lower and sharper quality like low settings with max resolution might make your gameplay even easier. Whatever brightness you have over other resolutions will most likely be affected by blurriness etc

Yes, playing on "low" (or at the very least with low shadows) will make the game significantly brighter

It's especially noticable when finding people in corn.

This is low. So very low. I just got through a match as the killer, where I lost out because I -could not see-. Worse, I have not even 3k blood points on a level 1 killer with nothing. So.. how the HELL are you supposed to earn points to get these supposed offerings if you can't play well enough in the dark to get any damn points?? I'm not going to screw with my monitor every damn time I want to play the game. That just changes the game into being a chore. if it stops being fun, what's the damn point??

- You can put your Monitor on "Gaming mode" if he have the Option for it. That makes the darkness a lot of lighter.

- If you play on Ultra grafik, it will also helps to edit the "gameusersettings" and put the ScalabilityLevel from "ScalabilityLevel=3 to ScalabilityLevel=0". Its not cheating there you turn only the grafik lower.

- Playing with Headset is also a must have.

- If you have a Nvidia GPU then go in the driver and put the "Dynamic output range" on > Full
this will remove the Grey color in your screen.
