How do you find out who the killer you're going against in the lobby?

How do some people know who you're going against before the match starts?

The sacrificial hooks.

Ropes around it - Trapper
Metal plates on them - Hillbilly
Weird looking cloth/fabric - Wraith
Holy looking - Nurse

He meant killer name. You do this by using your profile tab (right to the community) in Steam client, drop-down menu, friends. There (if in-game) you have tab "players".

I shouldn't be really telling this cause I'm extremely scummy killer and don't want to be dodged, but whatever.

not the best idea to be saying that method, will just make more people dodge killer lobbies sadly i dont know if the devs can do something about it cause its a steam thing

The killers can't see the recent player list no more because they abused it. Now survivors are abusing this.

Maybe, but killers can still see who is in lobby by using friends tab. I'm not sure how killer can abuse this; survivors can howover, to dodge or figure out what killer&perks will be most likely played.

At best they make an educated guess, there's no direct way to tell.

This doesn't work for me. I can only see the killer player name once it's in game. The below doesn't work for everyone in the lobby is my guess.

Devs are going to change this in a future patch so there is more suspense about not knowing who the killer is until you see them or hear them make noise.

No, private profiles still show up there. I think that devs should disable this if they can or ask Steam to do it for them, because they can for sure.

On attached picture you see example of killer that has private profile, with is why he isn't show as "in-game" but you can still see his name. It also doesn't show survivor names if you are survivor yourself.
