Killer Info in Campfire
...How are people suddenly able to tell exactly who the killer is before the game even starts? Every lobby I've been in the past couple of days, people say the Steam name of the killer, how many hours in the game they have, and which killer they play the most.

Is this a new feature that I'm just missing?

This is why my profile is private to everyone except people I've added as friends.

That would explain why I always meet so many people with "Small Game", although everyone says nobody uses the perk...

Just set your profile to private until you're done with trapper. When you use other killers with a public profile they'll assume you're still playing trapper and waste a perk.

Thats why my profil is private now (while i play DBD)
Killer can watch every survivors, and the survivors the Killer.
And that really stupid and many Killer dodge the lobby and many survivors if they see its a prestige.
if someone tells me something about the Killer i leave the lobby.

Yup, I'm gonna do that now. Glad I found this thread, one riddle more is solved now... it's a shame we have to do this in order to stop cheating.

Its not cheating but the same at survive with friends when dead guys tell the other wich perks the killer got. And devs maybe changed this.
But the profil stalking couldn´t be fixed by the devs

It's not technically cheating. It's at worst an exploit, and generally harmless. If your profile is set to Private, this doesn't affect you.

I checked while in the lobby, played the game, and it the name fit the profile. I can check again, but I doubt I'll get a different result.

it works everytime... you do it wrong. Not "played with"... and not open "steamoverlay"

Seeing the killer before the actual game and choosing your perks accordingly is nothing you are supposed to do. It's a trick to receive an unfair advantage. That means it's cheating. Using exploits is cheating. This word doesn't always mean downloading some sort of illegal software.
