Can you elaborate what you mean exactly by "regular game"?

If you aren't already, you need to use Survive With Friends. You can't invite people to a regular lobby, you need to join together.

If you're playing as the killer, you're not meant to be able to invite them to a ranked game because that would make farming points far too easy.

ready up
get dropped into a ranked lobby
ready up again
play game with friend + other randoms + random killer

the only way you can play with friends with 1 of you being the killer and the other being survivor is in kill your friends mode and you don't get points for this, it's intended to be that way.

We can debate whether the use of RPG Maker or similar programs actually makes you a developer, but as a developer, I'm sure you'll understand how playing against your friends easily could be exploited to farm a massive amount of points, and how it could also be used to grief other players by having your buddy lead you to the other survivors. It's for the best. If you want to play against friends, you can find some other players in the Searching For Players subforum.
