Hide, hide and hide.
make sure it's not too big or too small or you'll probably get hit.
You don't. But if you want to try:
Keep your camera on her at all times. If you see her close her hand for a blink, its a long one, so run towards her. The next two blinks of hers are going to be short, so either dodge at the last second so she hits air or get close to any obstacle (tree, wall, genny) and pray that auto aim isn't against you.
If you manage to get through all of that, the moment she's in fatigue her vision is dimmed, use that time to hide. If you are against a good killer who can track well, just know that they will be searching the area hard core for you and you may get spotted.
Your best bet against her is hiding. Period. Because unless she ♥♥♥♥♥ up, you are dead.
Edit: I remembered a few other ways you can try to evade her. If you're on the farm run through the corn field while she's blinking. It may confuse her.
If you're on the Iron Works of Misery, the upstairs platform is hard for her to blink on/across. Great place to juke her. The same for hills on the map. Unless she does a long blink she can't blink through them.
Look at how complicated it gets
I have to look back, see if she's grapsing her hand, run in her direction, then dodge last second x2 and then when her head is down, try to hide?
The chances of getting away are 1/20 that way. She puts her head down for about 2 seconds. What the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to do in those two seconds? She'll patrol the area hard and if I try to run in a direction, she'll have footsteps and catch me anyways.
this is my point
Ik. Trust me I know. And the tips I and anyone else will tell you will work 50% of the time. Trust me I've tried them all. These are your only ways to escape.
Nothing you've learned from escaping the other killers is applicable to playing against the nurse, except for staying hidden, which applies to ALL killers equally.
There are 4 killers, so if you are rank 1 and you haven't played against her a lot, which there is a more then 75% chance of since she isn't as popular as the trapper or hillbilly, chances are you haven't even begun to play enough games against to have learned how to play against her well.
I mean, you've played how many games against other killers before you managed to rise from the dregs of rank 20? You think all that experience should apply to escaping the nurse?
Doesn't work unless they're terrible
Not reliable against any decent player.
I escape every other killer pretty often actually, and the issue is the fact she can down you so incredibly quickly after finding you with no downside or increased difficulty in finding you compared to other killers when hiding is your only defense as a survivor.
Didn't have to play much at all to get out of rank 20 and realise there's ways to stall/escape other killers due to vaulting/pallets actually being useable against them and giving you distance when used. Do I think my game experience and mechanic knowledge should be worthless because the killer's new? No, I can create new strats/kiting methods with it if her ability didn't completely counter every mechanic ingame.
You're a killer main(From the looks of achis a nurse main) and barely touch survivor, but if you believe stealth should be survivors only defense against nurse then their needs to be disadvantages in finding players as nurse compared to other killers.
so the other killers need a buff then.
What is pretty often? 50% of the time? if you are escaping 50% of the time from a killer when he finds you , even 25% of the time is too much, 5% with 1 hit and 1% with no hit is about where I think it should be.
If you're escaping "pretty often" then I'd say the games in which you are playing
the killer is bad
or
the game is broken in favor of the survivors with all other killers and they all need buffs
its a 4 v 1 horror game in which getting found should mean getting caught, within 5 to 10 secs on average. Chases longer then that just help your teamates gain an advantage, which is what you should hope you can accomplish if you were seen.
Rank 1 or rank 20, if i find you with any killer I'm playing the chances you'll escape without an infinite are very low. Usually I just walk away from infinites because its a waste of time and just gives the survivors more time to pop gens.
Most my chases on ANY killer last 5 to 10 secs, nurse included. Some go 10 to 30, those are the better survivors. chases less then 5 secs are rare, chases greater then 30 are also rare.
If I lose you, it happens not because of the duration of the chase but because you managed a a good duck and mislead with scratches, which is true with ANY killer. Rarely does a window or pallet help with that.
Step 2: Profit
But more seriously, now that we have that out of the way, the Nurse really isn't 'that' hard to deal with. She follows a lot of the same 'rules' other Killers do (notice I said rules, no mechanics), in how you deal with here.
Does she camp? Still easy to finish stuff off and leave, no different.
Does she NOT camp? Means you can save people, you just actually have to know she's not within immediate blinking range to come back.
You don't know the perks, but she can't have ALL the perks Killers used before, and HER perks. She can't use IG, Nurse's Calling, Deerstalker, Spies, Whispers, etc. She only at most has 4, so you're going to need to 'plan' on what 4, you fear the most.
Let's toss out IG, you can't do anything about it, so why worry about it? Nurse's Calling. This one is easy, and I can make it easier if you want. Terror radius = 32 Meters. Nurse's Calling radius = 32 Meters. No heart beat, she can't see you healing. Want it easier? Take Premonition 3. 36 Meter range. Oh, only 4 Meters? Well, while you're healing, circle the camera around, if it goes off BEFORE heart beats, you can stop healing, BEFORE she'd see you using Nurse's calling. Glad you an beat that perk now.
Do you worry about Birds/Spies telling the Kille rwhere you are? if that's a general worry of yours, why are you not using Calm Spirit by default? Problem solved.
Whispers isn't much you can do, but it's not very accurate, and it can bug, so again, nothing to do about that.
Stridor? Well, get healed sooner rather than later, look above on how to deal with Nurse's Calling.
Deerstalker? Same as every other Killer, nothing new to deal with.
Onto what to do, when she finds you. Do you like pallets? Unless you're going to down it, and jump back over at her so she blinks to the other side, this is actually a pretty big waste of your time. Pallets are useless, which is where we start getting some 'differences' from other Killers. Yeah, you can still toss them down, to make her go around, or more likely, MAKE her blink, which at least makes YOU decide when the chain starts, but it's not really going to help break up her chain that often.
Windows, 'can' still have a point. I like Autohaven if you still use some windows. So many narrow places where windows are, if she's trying to blink from far away, she might over/under shoot it. the walls close together, pick which side she's going to end up on, ending in the middle to hit you, not super easy. The only down side, is if she does land there, easy to hit you, or you're now running in a straight line to get out, wonder where she's going to blink? Again, if she over shoots, lands perfectly, you could've been jumping back through, and now zig zaging away, cuz she has to blink again, and won't see you very well. It's not always going to work, but food for thought.
The key here, is having her chain end. YES, I get it, she could be blinking more than 3 times, but that doesn't 'count'. Add ons make every Killer better, and you aren't going to be facing 6 blinks EVERY match against a Nurse. you just don't get those add ons enough, to do it 100% of the time. Learn the number of blinks she has. Knowing she has 3, means you have a better chance, and you should be learning to dodge the 3, at least, because it's the default.
How to dodge those 3 though? Can I do it in one word, that I like to run for? TREES. Yes, you can use 'other' stuff, because her auto aim will often hit walls/clutter/etc. But seriously, trees. Many maps, tend to have a few trees scattered around, and most maps, have a couple of 'close' clusters of trees. THOSE are your Pallets/windows against a Nurse. Blinking is not very precise in those areas, because the trees move her to whatever side it deems where she should end. She also tends to hit them, because she's surrounded by trees. This is how I break the chain, and more often than not, it's going to mess her up once or twice.
Once she's 'stunned', you need to run a short distance, crouch to hide, and move into the least likely place she'll find you. Perks don't matter in this arguement, because Killers with Deerstalker lets say, have the same 'advantage' in finding you post hit. Either don't get hit, or deal with the same problems.
Once you're hidden, it only takes ONE wrong turn for the Nurse to often lose you. This doesn't mean hide near a pallet for the stun, because even if you DID stun her, she's 'found' you again, hasn't she? Unless it's a last resort, your objective, is to NOT be found again. If you weren't hit to begin with, it's actually pretty easy.
Here's the thing, IF you fear Nurse so much more, can I just recommend something I've already recommended? Premonition 3. I like this perk against all Killers, but I REALLY like it against Wraith/Nurse.
Just like how it might be nice to have warning of a cloaked Wraith coming, it 'can' often give you a wanring of the Nurse BEFORE she blinks. Not every Nurse is Blinking nonstop to travel, from as far as they can. You miss a lot of map, and miss Survivors if you just hold down BLink to max and warp as far as you can. It's more of a I'm going that direction, now I want to port in on the Generator. Some people do it from further away, which isn't as precise, and some get a little closer, to port on. Premonition is 4 meters extra over the Terror Radius, and I know, that's not a lot. Let me put it another way. That's about 12 feet. Get the tape measure out, and look at 12 feet. It's not nothing. In the context of this game, that 12 feet, can be huge. About as huge, as say, the Nurse that blinks as she's getting to her Terror Radius (not like SHE knows when the heart beats are starting), and a Nurse blinking earlier. If she procks Premonition 3, just think of the fact that you can stop the Generator, and try to hide, before the blink comes in. She blinks now, sees the empty, but worked on Generator, and blinks twice to look in a random direction.
Again, she guesses wrong, and now she's not as close, easy. ;)
GG
Against bad killers? 50% of the time, good ones maybe 10% of the time, the game IS broken in survivor of the favors on the majority of maps due to how many pallets are around, I'm not going to discuss infinites because I don't use them and they shouldn't be ingame.
Your chases on killer lasts 5 to 10seconds? Worst survivors in the world, your first hit and wipe blade animation should take you a minimum of 8seconds to get the second swing even if they're just walking straight forward, 30seconds should be a MINIMUM chase for any decent survivor with access to even one pallet and no sprintburst.(I don't mean this is fair, I mean this is how long a survivor can easily stall when he can tank two hits)
The reason it's easier to escape the nurse is because a pallet/window does help a ton in giving you distance making it much easier to hide because there's more places you could be hiding behind as opposed to one small box you could reach within the 3second stun a nurse experiences after blinking(And infinite vision she recieves while teleporting because it clips through objects, 10/10)
Maps need redesigned, some need more pallets some need less, killers don't need directly buffed just the layout of maps need fixed so if the killer forces you through a bunch of pallets then every single chase after that becomes much easier/faster for the killer due to no more pallets being left, the longer the game goes on the harder it should be on the survivors, nurse ignores absolutely all of this because she has the highest mobility of all the killers, easiest chases and can appear at any visual cue in 3seconds(While gaining vision through every building/rock she passes through)
Escaping against other killers are a challenge that makes the game fun. You can use pallets, windows and buildings to your advantage for a chance to get away. This makes the game what it is. It brings you on the edge of your computer chair.
But when the nurse sees you, there is a 99% chance she's getting you. If she knows how to use her power to a mediocre range, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
You saying that the other killers should be harder makes the game realistic. But what the ♥♥♥♥ is the point in that? If I wanted to do that, I would go open some jail doors at an asylum and let them run me around. It is supposed to be fun, the game, atleast.
