Offline mode? Bots? Play without Internet?
Are any of these coming? Would love to play offline whenever the internet craps out, or even play custom games with friends and mess around with bots

Would be fun to play DBD matches offline- Absolutely! Especially when you're out somewhere with no connection.

And besides- The bots are better than the average solo queue teammate!

I'm all for it!

There are already bots in the tutorials section but it's pretty limited. I read somewhere that they will expand. I don't think it's worth it. It will be pretty boring.

I am pretty sure bots in custom games are coming with Knight, but don't take my word for it.

Beats playing against people who tell you hateful things that would get you banned from the forums in a heartbeat but for some reason are 100% allowed to say in DBD after the match.
You can always turn off post game chat and not have to read their BS. I used to think I'd like to have bots in the game but not anymore. Bots will be totally predictable and part of the fun is the small battles you have in the game with particular players. That's something that just can´t be reproduced artificially.
I learned to have fun even in defeat and not pay attention to entitled players and their BS. Not that I get much of that either, honestly. I rarelly get any good or bad comments, tunneling, camping or any of those things everyone complains about. Probably just my time zone/rank though. I do get sweaty swf teams from time to time but it's fun to at least catch a few of them. I like sweaty games even though they are more stressful.
Maybe it's also that you never actually "lose" in this game. You can get a 4K and that's definitely a win. But if you don't you can still pip with just one kill (maybe even no kills, not sure) and even if you get steamrolled you'll probably get enough BP to consider it worthwhile. There's always something.

there is actively bots for custom matches in the PTB right now, and they should be releasing with the next updates launch

The current bot mode requires the internet, the game needs to still find a server. I'm no programmer, I don't know why this is. It seems to me like playing against characters that aren't controlled by human beings shouldn't require you to be online, but it is what it is. I'm only concerned because I would like to still be able to play this game in some fashion when server shutdown day inevitably comes.

The bots are imperfect, but good. Definitely predictable in some ways - they rely too much on vaults and aren't as aggressive as they should be about getting gens done, especially when they have the chance to do so while you're being chased. It does happen, just not enough. They're a good approximation of moderately skilled players but with any luck their difficulty and capacity for randomness will be tweaked in the coming months. The mode is fun, and if nothing else it absolutely allows you to experiment with different killers and builds which was the whole point. I'd just like to maybe see a sort of difficulty selection at some point. Perfect Dark did it back in 2000, I'm sure we can still get it done more than twenty years later.
