every update needs cache verification

Go into steam options and clear the download cache... Once I did that I didn't need to verify my DBD install after every update.

You'll have to relog into Steam.

Either what thebean said, or you could try and see if your AV is messing with files. It's possible that when downloading a new update, something happens to the files temporarily that the AV picks up on and quarantines the files.

I downloaded Dishonored but Windows Defender was so picky that when I went to launch, it crashed instantly. Verified my cache and got so many files missing. Downloaded 11.1 GB of "patches" for a 12.3 GB game.

yea man something like that is whats happening to me, the update was 4mb but now verify cache downloads 240mb for me.
and its taking literally an hour even though i have a 6mb/s download speed which is why its frustrating me

how can i do this? i have the same problem. i gotta verify everytime before i open the game otherwise it wont let me find a lobby like ive tried this a lot...
