How does the white ward work ?

Does it save the item you had in your hand when you died or the item you started the trial with ? It would be possible to dublicate items when the item you started with gets saved.

When you die, you drop your item. White ward prevents the item from dropping and it stays in your inventory.

actually i'm pretty sure other survivors can pick up the item from your hook. I know it works that way if someone DCs

DC is not "dying", and I remember some Youtuber using white ward and making a remark that the item didn't drop when he died. Otherwise, you could multiply the item when you play SWF.
