Xbox 360 controllers certainly work, but I wouldn't really recommend it. It takes around 2.5 seconds to pull a full turn and with the game lacking such a basic option as changing the sensitivity, you are stuck with that slow speed. That slow turn speed is hell for Killers (especially Nurse) and can screw you over as a Survivor because you can't rapidly look behind you and back to where you are going.

Though it isn't such a major issue as a Survivor (in my experience) but if you do plan on playing Killer I would highly recommend using a mouse. So long as you can change the DPI on your mouse, you can have pretty much instant 360 degree turn speeds.

They don't work because of EAC.

Game details say partial controller support meaning that yes in game controller works but you can't navigate the menu with it

A controller won't work for the game because EAC thinks it is a macro or something. Maybe it is just for the menu, IDK.

An Xbox 360 controller will work just fine as i've used mine since the Beta. Though they have never worked on the menus.
