YEah the game has more players right now then it has in awhile, WHere are ALL the survivors leaving, where are is the supposed dead game. Let me answer , the game is the healthiest its been and for every one surwvivor that quits another 100 takes your place.

We'll just have to wait to see the long-term impact. All patches draw in a small surge of players. But it certainly doesn't look like any significant amount are leaving.

It's because people aren't content to just say "I'm worried with my initial impressions of this patch and I feel like things are worse for me". Instead, they have to say OMG UR COMPANY WILL GO BANKRUPT IN 3 DAYS I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND ONLY I KNOW THE TRUTH.

I know it's human nature, but a person's knee-jerk reactions on teh internetz is a sad, sad thing to watch.

Uh... I don't want to be rude or anything. But in the last 2 days. We've seen almost 20k players stop playing the game. From the 'peak' number of 80k. Which isn't a lot. But, it has definitely dropped the community down some.

It's not really a secret that people on the internet are prone to fits of hysteria and histrionics over perceived slights. Such as changing anything familiar, even if they didn't like that familiar thing.

We value comfort over the unknown. Even if that comfort was kind of awful. DbD is like our abusive ex who is trying to change, so we take them back, and we don't really know if it'll be any better, but at least SOMETHING has changed.

Naw man that's just new patch spike and it always happens. There's a huge amount of super casual players that typically only pop into a game during the patch release hype. Think of any new big game coming out and check it's chart on release a couple days then wait a bit and check the day after. It'll have dropped significantly because that's always what happens.

You also have those people who metamance a game from day one. That typically only works for their specific game goal but they'll rush through it get what they want super quick using cheese methods and stuff then be like "I'm bored" or "Bad Game".
