it still randomly works 20% of the time but damn.
I have done all the crap others have suggested but I am on Windows 7. and I do not planning on upgrading for this stupid game - I believe the problem likes with anti-cheat but who the hell knows.
Anticheat also sees DBD as "game 98" or something as opposed to the actual game title and no attempts at deleting and re-installing or running repair does nothing.
It started about 2 1/2 months ago and I am tired of this.
Also fix your ♥♥♥♥ BHVR.
Try creating a new account on your windows and try again
I have quit the game and restarted it.
I have quit steam and restarted it.
I have restarted my computer.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled DBD.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled steam.
I have repaired EAC.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled EAC.
I have verified the game files.
I have run the game as administrator.
I have edited my anti-virus and firewall to allow DBD.
I have tried launching DBD on my second account.
I have gone offline then back online on steam.
I have deleted the easyanticheat.sys file.
I have launched other games that use EAC to see if they work (they do).
I have cleared my steam download cache.
I have launched DBD via the executable file.
I have launched the game then waited to see if the error would fix itself.
I have changed my steam download region.
I have reconnected to my internet.
I have opened task manager and force-ended all tasks that start with Dead By Daylight, Steam, and Easy Anti Cheat, and then relaunched the game.
I have updated windows.
I have updated steam.
And then I did all of this at least a second time (some of these I have done over 5 times). And none of it fixed the issue. The problem lies specifically with DBD because, as I've said, I have launched other games that use EAC and those worked perfectly fine (i.e. Apex). I have also launched other games via the steam platform to see if steam was effecting steam-based games only, and those worked perfectly fine as well. It's only DBD I am having issues with.

Sometimes when your game launches but your Steam doesn't properly relay the fact that you are indeed a steam player, it may cause you to tell you that you aren't online.
Do you have any other instance of DBD installed that may start instead of the Steam version, causing it to overlap with Steam thinking "This is a steam user trying to start Epic Games DBD"?
Oh yeah, also if you have Valorant installed (Which automatically includes Vanguard Anticheat) disable that garbage.
My god that Anticheat bricks more than it helps.
I dont want to insult your stupidity but I still dont see answer to my question XDDDDDDDDDD
