It’s still an amazing perk, it just can’t be abused now.
This could be solved in a very simple way, without nerfing the perk. Just make perk don't pause skillchecks. Bam, they can't hold you hostage on hook anymore (because you can miss 2 skillchecks and die, just like before)
It definitely will be. What surprising is the fact they nerfed it. Like, everyone agrees that facecamping is bad and unfun playstyle, survivors should have means to counter it (outside of just do gens and get good). Ideally it should be basekit, but ok, perk is fine. Then thy nerf it so it's actually not so punishing to the camper... Like, wtf?
This would work quite well tbh, however they already have a fix in place for it so we'll see how that fairs i guess.
yeah? and exactly where i stated that it is the killer's fault? where did i berate others?
it wasn't infinite since the perk had a 40 seconds cooldown, and it stopped the hook timer for 30 seconds. there was a 10 seconds time window, so hook timer could progress anyway.
what you described is an unrealistic scenario, and multiple bannable offenses at the same time: working with the opposite team, and holding the game hostage. so in that case you have to report them. while it's unrealistic it is a problem thats true, but they could have easily fixed it with a global cooldown on the perk, instead of murdering it. now it is too situational, and the real benefit will be on the side of coordinated swf teams, while the real victims of camping are the solo players.
That actually happening is so greatly overrated.
