Why can survivors relight boon totems.
Why can survivors relight snuffed boon totems, Their power is comparable if not greater than most hex perks and there's 1 killer in comparison to 4 survivors meaning that a hex is statistically more likely to be cleansed with the exception of the audio boons give off. But boons for survivors are incredibly powerful, yet snuffing them hardly does anything as a survivor can just come back and relight it. CoH isn't used much in chase, so it doesn't matter if the killer snuffs it, it can just be relit for a healing party later, and hex exponential can be relit so it can continue being a threat for a killer despite the killer having already taken time they could've used for finding survs or chasing to snuff it. The killer's time is more valuable than a survivor's due to the 1:4 ratio, so blessing a totem or relighting it takes an insignificant amount of time for a survivor but requires the killer to either temporarily stop chase or go out of their way to snuff it. Coming off a game where I had to snuff a single totem over 4 times, just doesn't seem fair considering how comparatively weak and easy to cleanse most hex perks are, and the fact that their cleansing is permanent with exception of hex undying.

You can break boons by bringing shattered hope, there you go. Boons are not OP in any way, they are mostly garbage at this point after all the nerfs they've had since they came out.

Forgot to mention shattered hope I guess, should've expected a smart ass. Shattered hope is complete trash and should'nt even be in the game. It's never going to be ran and should be basekit outside of the aura reveal. It takes up a perk slot and does something too miniscule to ever consider using.

I agree tbh. It's a lame way to fix the problem
Just kill bro, it's literally the easiest thing in the world.

Yeah either Shattered Hope needs to provide an actual benefit in the case no one brings/uses boon totems or boons need to consume tokens to limit their use per game.

Because BHVR favors survivors. They made BT basekit, but shattered hope a perk. Even their fog whisperers told them day 0 of boons, "killers should be able to snuff or break with 2 buttons" and they replied "no, 1 button and a perk slot"

Why should killers get everything base kit when survivors have to spend a lot of time to boon and cleanse hex totems? Meanwhile it takes one second to snuff/break a boon if you bring the proper perk, why do survivors have to have 5 different totem perks and items to help find totems and killer mains are so entitled they think everything should be handed to them as base kit? Get over it and use shattered hope if boons are such an issue FOR YOU. I don't care about boons as killer, they don't stop me AT ALL.

As said in the original post, the killer's time is comparatively more important than the survivors. There are 4 survivors who can be in 4 different places doing 4 different things and only 1 killer who can be in one place doing one thing. The killer having to take time to find and cleanse a boon is more impactful for them overall than a survivor who sets it up 3 times by the gen they're working on anyways. Additionally, there are 4 survivors to find killer totems meaning they are much more likely to be cleansed quickly and easily unless the killer sacrificed another perk to protect it. If you don't care about boons as a killer, perhaps you haven't played enough killer or haven't encountered a squad that uses them effectively. Or you just play nothing but nurse and blight.

Boons are mostly insignificant tbh, you can ignore it and win easily still.
honestly the boons are too weak to justify having shattered hope as base kit.
if you're hunting down boons that aren't shadow step, you're doing it wrong. very wrong.

Or... you know, RPD, Game, Eyrie, Badham second floor boon that takes 45 seconds to walk to and snuff yet covers most of the map. Welp, I guess the Survivors get infinite free heals because there's no point in giving them a free generator's worth of time to snuff it when they can be back there and have it up within 60 seconds.

oh no they can heal, the horror. unless the survivor is a mindgame god you shouldn't lose them on those map, well except RPD that map is a nightmare.

The overall answer, because if BHVR made them on the same level as hexes survivors would complain or never run them. So they made the stupid bandaid perk.

Though you gotta love the irony that survivors complained Hex Undying into nerfs because destroying a hex only to have it still be up up to four times was annoying. So BHVR went and said "Hey what if Undying was basekit to survivor's version of hexes, except infinite."

At this point Shattered Hope should either A: Be made basekit, Or B: Let the killer relight Hexes like survivors can relight boons. It either needs something extra to be worth running, since you never run into boons when running it, or just taken out entirely.

My suggestion to nerf boons would be:
- Lighting a boon for the first time takes 20s
- 2nd time: 30s
- 3rd time: 40s
- 4th time: 50s
- ...

If boons were good, at least meta then shattered hope would not be trash because it is a counter to boons. But boons are not meta, so it is a skill issue in your case.
