Localization Names.

Out of curiousity. I want to know what certain perks addons or killers are called in different languages. So everybody says the english name first than the name of the localization and what it means.

I start.

Deerstalker. Called "Detektivmütze" in the german localization. Which translates into "Detectives Cap".

The German translation is borderline garbage in most cases. If they can't hire a translator, then they could at least ask native speakers from the community to translate it for them. Most of the German translation looks like it's translated using Google. Some words are even completely out of context and have the same spelling, but a completely different meaning.$

One of the reasons why I stopped playing games in German and have everything on English.

@Devs: If you did indeed hire a translator, seriously, fire them. It's a very poorly done job the moment a phrase get's a bit complicated to translate.

I play both sometimes love to hear german synchro from time to time but this translations are really weird. Wish we could give them proper names. I mean some are translated correct Iron Grasp or Nurse Calling but some are just weird.

Shadowborn and Lightborn are called Schattenresistent and Lichtresistent which translates into Shadowresistant and Lightresistant.

well the french translation is pretty good except for honing stone which is just something like #addon123#honningstone# or something like that lul

In germany it is called Schleifstein. Put together from the word schleifen which is honing and stein for stone. But than again i would call it a grinding stone.

For the killer names.

Trapper is called Der Fallensteller. Which is the german word for Trapper it is made from two words. Falle aka trap and steller which comes from the word stellen aka set up or setting up could be translated into setter. Aka Trapsetter.

Wraith ist called Der Geist which means The Ghost.

Hillybilly ist called Hinterwäldler which is the correct translation for Hillybilly. It can also mean backwoodsman.

The nurse is called Die Krankenschwester. Made from the word krank = sick or ill and sister. So Krankenschwester means Sister of the ills. Cause she is aiding them like a sister.

Now for the perks.

Iridescent - showing luminous colors that seem to change when seen from different angles. (c) Google.

Rainbow at this point is pretty close. Also it could be kaleidoscopic shards.

Stridor is called Stridor but Streetwise is called Gewieft. When somebody is gewieft. It means he is clever or sharp. It can also mean slick or crafty
