Do people really hack in this game and why ?
Its not exactly a competetive shooter and hacking/cheating in those is sad but to do it in this casual party game is beyond sad tbh not encountered any yet but what to expect. These people need help lol

Everyone here keeps saying that the hackers do it because they don't have any skill, no confidence etc. Has no one considered that it's just purely more fun to play that way? It's fun to fly around the maps as a killer throwing hatchets because it breaks the shell of the normal gameplay that's been the same for 6 years? It isn't ALWAYS a skill issue, as often as these people say. I've seen plenty of hackers that actually know how to play the game well enough to do well without them, but choose to use them because they simply have more fun doing so.

For the same reason so many people camp and tunnel for kills, it's unfun, it's pointless and shows that the person in question has literally no skill at the game they are playing

I mean you say that but every top killer main knows that camping and tunnelling in some scenarios is one of the most effective strategies to secure a win

Im not saying that hard camping and tunnelling every survivor is the right way to play, or that a survivor should enjoy it when its happening to them, but they need to understand that its kind of an aspect of the game... and sometimes its necessary for a killer even get one kill.

The number of times ive seen OTZ or Red say "i have to tunnel this survivor or we hard loose the game, and people need to understand why it happens... its the most effective thing a killer can do, reducing a survivor teams speed by 25%.

And before anyone says it, im a survivor main. I just understand that tunnelling and being camped is a necessity for killers sometimes.. if a killers just been run for 2-3 gens with little to no hooks, its the only way he / she can even attempt to salvage a game and get a 2k just for the draw sometimes. Yes it feels bad and un-fun for me when it happens, but you also have to understand fundamentally why its happening.

I understand wanting to have fun in different ways but with how DBD currently is having a "fair" match is important if you're playing to win. It's fun when the hacker is trying to be fun, but the amount of griefing people seem to experience via them outweighs any positive interactions.

The sandbox/game as a whole has a LOT of untapped potential IMO but the devs are gonna do whatever they're gonna do. Modding for this game when it loses support will be interesting to see tho, but that'll be a while from now more than likely.
Either they suck at the game so badly that they need hacks to win, or they simply enjoy messing with people.
People that just want to win but don't have the skills so they cheat their way through life.

yeah there's quite a few of them actually...

Most are using hard to detect things like 1/2% move speed increases, or marginally faster gen/healing speed. With these its really hard to tell if they are cheating or not, but that extra 1/2% speed really impacts the game...

But every now and then you get one that doesn't seem to give a ♥♥♥♥ and fly's over the map, completing all 5 gens at the same time, while cleansing every totem and sabotaging every hook. Not to mention if they mess up and you do manage to down them, they can instant struggle free and also instant heal.. had that happen a few times recently...

The best one was while i was playing as wraith on the eerie of crows map after the 6.1 update (so only a month or so ago). I chased a survivor, he went inside a locker, as i opened the locker, he flew out of it, and somehow slowed my locker opening action speed down. i was locked in that animation for 3 whole gens worth of time, all the while he stood flying in front of me, taunting me.

From my almost 500 hours in dbd, i've only ever come across cheaters that were playing as survivor, and i often experience the all out, no ♥♥♥♥♥ given cheaters after a big patch / DLC release. For example, on the day of wesker release last week or so, i had a hacker that would fly in front of me while i was chasing another survivor, and hook himself in a doorway or vault location... i couldn't move past him cause of collision... it was infuriating... but his SWF weren't happy that i still managed to 3k. I ended up just having to slug all 3 of them and hit them as soon has he instant picked them up... was a long match, but i wasn't gonna give up and let them win without a fight.
many ages ago, i posted a video of Legion that could teleport, fly and throw hatchets, then a week later a ghostface that flew and machine gun threw hatchets across the map

This. Also if it's competitive to any degree. That will always result in cheaters. Even in a game of checkers with a friend, some people will cheat to win. Stands to reason people would cheat in something like this too. As for why so many compared to other games, poorly implemented prevention/removal.

Sometimes it's very vague when they are though. I've had to put a few reports stating that I'm not 100% but from my view it sure looked like it. In a game like this it can be very hard to tell if they're using wall hacks for example. Once watched on hook as killer stared and followed left and right at a survivor behind walls that was pacing back and forth. No perks or anything to give him a tell and whole game he went straight toward everyone like he just knew. Was he using them 100%? Idk. Sure as hell looked like it, but it's "possible" he wasn't.

That sounds badass. If he didn't hook anyone and just bombarded them until they escaped, he'd be really cool. But I'm guessing he was a 4k cheater. :BigZee:

In 5 years playing I have never seen anything like an exploit or a hack
And where do that "game is toxic AF" come from?
Honestly I have no clue, we shouldn't be playing the same game

Edit: Nvm I thought I was on the hunt shodown forum, my bad

You're 100% wrong on that, nobody hacking cares about winning on dbd as there's literally nothing on the line, it's a causal game. Players using hacks are doing it to troll and the game has unique mechanics to troll others, especially with hacks.
