Help with EAC, Unjust Ban
A couple months ago my girlfriend was randomly banned while grinding to prestige all her survivors before the prestige rework hit. We were super confused and annoyed because this meant that she was extremely unlikely to be able to prestige them all in time, but it turned out to be much worse. Just last week she got an e-mail saying her ban appeal has been denied, she wont be able to submit another one, and they won't even give us any information beyond "there is strong evidence you were cheating". Has anyone encountered anything like this and been able to successfully fight it? She's very cut-up about it, we had played the game together for almost 3 years and always hated cheaters. If anyone knows a way to help that doesn't involve spitefully buying a hacked account or similar please reach out.

If the ban appeal was denied that is it. Noting anyone here can do. No support for any game will ever provide more then "there is strong evidence you were cheating". As givinh more info helps cheaters find ways to avoid getting banned again.

Also discussing bans are not allowed on the forums. You submit a support ticket and if the appeal is denied, like i said that is it.

most you can do is start over with a new account

That's completely bull, we kept playing even when BHVR's servers screwed her out of some log-in rewards on an anniversary event. But starting completely from scratch for no reason other than the janky anti-cheat didn't like her is completely unreasonable. That's nearly 3k hours worth of playtime completely thrown away.

I feel sorry for her but there is nothing you can do. A denied appeal is like a final decision so she has to start from scratch as harsh as it sounds

It's hard to say how you should proceed, unfortunately. Usually the issue is BHVR ignoring hackers, not banning innocent players. Basically, the only way someone gets banned currently is if they've modified their game and it's been detected by EAC, or someone's recorded a match and sent in a replay showing someone has been cheating.

Nobody really knows what their review process for the replays is, It's entirely possible someone else in the match was hacking and it affected her. If I had to guess, it probably takes multiple reports for them to actually permaban anyone.

If BHVR doesn't want to unban, not much can be done. You could continue to talk to their customer service (politely and respectfully, of course.), or buy a new copy or something. That's about it.

Sadly FMG is right, if they denied her appeal there is nothing else you can do. the system decided she was cheating and they are upholding it

your game time is private as well as hers also no one here can trust your words without prof or even be able to help tbh , so why bother ❔❕

There's nothing wrong with asking. It's true we can't verify OP's story, but that doesn't mean we can't answer the question.

I though game time was easy to check?

We've already talked to BHVR a couple times and they say that it's out of their hands, like they have so little control over their own game that they cant help unban someone even if they believe us.

It sure isn't when you set it to friends only.

This is sadly an EAC thing that they enforce on every game their software is used on. Not much you can do if they don't want to unban her.

I've seen people mass reported and wrongfully banned (Last one I saw was in march)

This sounds insanely sketchy.

I can't say I take sides as EAC is pretty trash from my understanding, but if you use any third party program, even if it changes some icons it could trigger EAC to ban you. It doesn't have to be straight up cheats and even when using something like an icon changer or the like, they always tell you it's a use at your own risk sort of thing. Now there hasn't been cases of people getting banned as twitch streamers use them, but EAC can change what their engine detects as cheats one day and a lot of people could potentially get banned eventually.

But EAC is trash because it doesn´t work, not because it would ban innocent people. That´s difference. EAC is trash because you have to authorize your app on multiple platforms before releasing or you jsut can´t play it without devs´ authorizing it (hello Steam deck) and because it works in stupid way. + EAC isn´t full anti-cheat. Imagine EAC as some main software, then you can add plugins into it to make it more effective the way you want. As much as I heard, they will implement into DBD version of EAC same version as Rust has. It will help a bit but I don´t think it´s perfect. It would be better to have custom version of EAC made just for DBD. But, you know, devs are happy they are able to fix new killer 1 week after release, I doubt they will do something like that.

+ EAC is trash because it isn´t able to detect some variants of cheats. Yes, it is true that EAC will prevent the most basic ones to show up in game. But what with that? Right now there are 2 strong custom launchers for DBD, both paid per month, that will allow you cheat with fresh account and do whatever you want. Both are still undetected by DBD devs and still working. Already for year? Or something like that. The activity really rises since June 2022. Why? Those launchers went popular. Some people don´t care they have to pay 15€ for it per month, they can cheat with new account and they don´t have to give a sh*t, so why not, right?

Btw by "undetected" I mean, DBD devs know about them but they didn´t patch it yet. I sometimes think it´s getting worse and worse.

Idc how "rare" it is, it happened. I don't have several thousand hours worth of games recorded to show it. We never installed anything to even change a letter of font, customize icons or whatever. I personally wouldn't even know how to, i spend most of my gaming on console.
