Pop Goes The Weasel never deserved a nerf

It was a strong perk but it was strong for good reason. It incentivizes the killer to go for as many hooks as possible and to leave the hook since you need to kick the gen to use its effect. It was rightfully a meta perk and old Pop would have been a beautiful addition to the new meta but since they nerfed it other perks that requires less steps to activate their effects (CoB, Overcharge, Pain Res and Jolt) are more efficient since gens with lower progress are not giving you much value of the perk anymore since it's now 20% of the current progression and not of the maximum progression, making the perk inferior to pain resonance who regresses the gen with the most progress by 15% of the maximum progression. There is simply no reason to use it anymore which is sad because unlike other gen regression perks it actually requires you to play fair in order to get its full value. They implemented basekit BT to make tunneling harder but the one perk that incentivizes not to tunnel and camp but to go to the gens and away from the hook to apply pressure gets nerfed.

Nah I think you need to read the perks description again. The 20% regression are not based on maximum progression anymore but on current progression meaning that the smaller the progression of the gen the smaller the regression. This is a pretty hard nerf and stating that all good survivor perks took huge nerfs is just a bogus claim. DH is still viable and sometimes even stronger because it gives you more distance, you still have Prove Thyself, Sprint Burst, Lithe, BT (not to mention Basekit BT and the Off the Record buff), and with the new chapter we got hyperfocus which pairs incredibly well with Stakeout, circle of healing is still meta I could go on. Just because DH isn't as obnoxious anymore doesn't mean that survivor perks got all trash all of a sudden.

Damn i didn't notice that. But still there isn't much reason to take it now even if it was like it used to be since i think eruption, overcharge, and call of brine has much more value in the long run. There are no extra steps for these to work and you can just take pain if you want regression on hook. To be honest i was kinda fed up using Pop on literally every killer the buffs to other perks and nerf to pop is better so we get multiple great gen regression perks now instead of being stuck with one.
