Can someone hack you Steam account through DbD?
Yesterday I played as solo survivor against some good player with Onryo. From the start she was much stronger than us and after she downed someone she didn't immediately hooked, she just kept looking for others. That situation took around 25mn and we slowly managed to fix the generators and escape. In end game chat that killer wrote "I needed the time for my hacks".

I immediately exited the game and restarted PC to interrupt internet connection. I changed my Steam password (I have active Steam guard) and scanned PC with Malwarebytes.

If this was some other game I wouldn't be worried but since DbD has so much bugs, cheaters exploits is it possible to someone hack Steam throught this game? Should I be worried?

For now it's seem I.P is hidded behind a dbd server.
But the bad new with all cheaters is that the server seem to answer all querry.

Your steam account is not suppose to be in trouble at all.
Like everybody he can get your steam ID and know everything from what you show in your current profil, nothing more.

But unless your login is the same as your username you shouldn't be worried if he succeded at getting your ip.

Futhermore, a thief don't warn the target, sound more like a bad joke.

If this game was such a huge risk to the security of your account, it seems very unlikely that Steam would allow it to remain on their platform. Steam is unlikely to care about normal cheaters in games or even things like DDoS, but if customers were losing their accounts just by playing a game that would be a different story. You don't want to lose your paying customers over a single game.

Sounds like a big coincidence to be and it cannot be a Dead by Daylight issue. Still, make sure to change absolutely everything and enable 2FA for another layer of protection.
