People just say anything they don't like is politics. It wasn't politics when David was assumed straight, it is now because he's confirmed gay. These people obsess over what people do with their bodies.

Every time they see David now they can't help but imagine him having passionate sweaty gay sex and that upsets them. Everyone else just lives their life because it's a video game.

Its tokenism and virtue signalling at its finest. Rather than design a new character from the ground up, they just change an old one and call it a day. NO one should be happy about this. new to dbd but had seen something about leatherface and blackface criticism/harassment before, wouldn't this just open the door for people to say "the killers are targeting Davids just because he's gay now!"?

idk to me after seeing a 22.5gb patch if they wanted to make a gay/lgbt survivor maybe some of that 22.5 could have gone towards that instead of just adding lines to an existing character's backstory. kinda reminds me of overwatch when blizzard decided to add soldier 76's backstory as being lgbt like 2-3 years after launch and was praised for having a 'new' lgbt character when he already existed
