Well, the player count did drop roughly since last september/october according to steam-charts.
There surely are several reasons, yet as far as I see it, this forum will turn it into an "its x-sided"-discussion combined with childish insults anyway.^^

But if you look at that chart and go back to 2020, there was even less. So it actually increased and went down, but it was also small numbers during those months in 2020, so its probably normal.

Personally I think people read too much into it. When I started going into dbd in 2019 people said the game was dying as well. Look where we are today.

Dosnt help if there was 1 killer for each 4 survivors back then, and now they killers cant be bothered anymore. so we have ect. 9 survivors for 1 killer now, so 5 will have to wait for a killer to be free.

Just remember that login rewards and random bp codes are not created to help you but to fake the steam charts and pretend the active players are way more than what they actually in there to play the game.

Im pretty sure many of you right now has a few games installed that you don't play but you only keep them installed for the daily rewards//daily missions just in case you return to those games in some future.

We're in a downphase of no active tome and no new DLC. It's the same drop as always. Numbers will go up as soon as the next tome comes out. Even more so with the next DLC.

What? Try ten thousand players less than a week ago. And when your player count is only 50K losing 20% of your player base is substantial.

Steam charts don't lie, player count is going down, -10% of entire playerbase no longer play for the past 30 days. However, looking back at the chart I see it's normal after 2-3 months after release of a new expansion.

stale meta (seriously it hasnt changed much since all the way back since deadhard was added)
killer is becoming more and more stressful with additional objectives for less reward while survivor gameplay remains the same with new perks that add in more stress for the killer role to which makes it so most of the "lesser killers" are unable to contest resulted in less reason to diversify away from nurse, spirit, blight, oni and wraith.
survivor gameplay consists of 3 things, hiding, looping and holding m1 while infront of a hunk of metal, maybe sprinkle in some totem stuff if they are daring. but otherwise no changes for YEARS.

hell i'v grown bored with the game because i cant play my favorite killers because they are less competent against the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ survivor meta.
sure i could probably just flip over to nurse or blight but you can only play so many matches of the same killers all the time before it gets boring, i want to play demo or ghostboy dammit with alittle bit of pinhead but the current stale survivor meta makes that psudo-masochism.
as a survivor i'v grown bored of just holding M1 because the bad loopers keep feeding hooks and i grow tired of them running to hooks that are obviously being camped and them dying to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ basement bubba's.
