Depends on what role you're going to play mainly and how many DLCs you want to buy.
If you're going to play as killer, Leatherface one is the best one to get as soon as possible since his perk BBQ & Chili, helps a lot with grinding.
For survivors, probably two good ones are Halloween one (Decisive Strike) and Mikaela one (Circle of Healing).

If you just bought the game, I'd recommend playing a bit of it first before buying any DLC. They already have good options in the base game for beginners, like Trapper (Killer) or, when it comes to Survivors, I'd say Meg would be a good one to start with.

Definetly the above quote but if you really want/have to buy DLC then I also agree with the below quote.

Clown and Plague DLCs have the best perks for beginners and even experienced players. Corrupt intervention, Infectious fright, Pop goes the weasel and Bamboozle are fantastic to get you going as a killer. As an added bonus you get the 2 hottest survivors in the game, Kate and Jane. As for survivor perks, you don't need any DLCs, the best perks are either universal or on survivors already included in the game.

Ninguno. No inviertas dinero en un juego, cuya empresa no escucha a su comunidad. Juega a otra cosa, te harás un favor a tu salud mental, y a tu cartera

Sorry for your lose. You came the wrong time the game is heading south real fast. I would ask for a refund

I'd recommend the Cannibal DLC, because the grind is so huge.. It's really something.
Even players with over 2k hours on record don't have „100% completion“, and aren't even close to that (All characters P3 Lv. 50).

Come on, the base game is absolutely worth the money.. If you add the DLC packs, however, it'll be a different story.

Plague is pretty fun to play and is new-player friendly with the perk which neutralize 3 most distant generators for 2 minutes.

The licensed ones since you can't unlock them with shards.

I'd recommend refunding the game if you still can. It's in a pretty rough state, and isn't really worth playing on either side at this point. If you're past the refund period, play the baseline characters for ~50 hours on both sides before deciding on anything, since that's about the minimum you need to figure out how the game works and to get halfway decent enough to not be wasting your money.

For survivors, I recommend playing Claudette, she's base game and has 3 solid perks. Add in Kindred, which is generic and no dlc needed, and you have an okay build. It's not OH MY GOD THE BEST but it'll get you through some matches and do alright.

For killers, the one I always recommend to new killers is the Doctor. He's also part of the base game. He has an aoe that will help you reveal survivors near you, which is the biggest issue new killers have: finding survivors.

Play those two to 50. Then look at getting DLC, when you have a better idea of what you like and what works.

Isn't Laurie Strode DLC only?
