I don't understand how to find the Hatch.

As title says. I don't understand how to find the Hatch, either as a killer or survivor. What am I missing?

Check the landmarks:
Shack
Main building
Jungle gyms

The hatch can only spawn down stairs. It’ll never spawn upstairs unless there’s a bug. So on maps like the game or police station it’ll always down stairs.

The sound of the hatch is the best way to find it if you are near by.
Otherwise just run around. Don´t go the same way twice. Maybe start at a certain point and run around the map.
Also if I am not mistaken the hatch can only spawn on lower floor of the map. So it can´t spawn on the second floor of some building. So you don´t have to look there.

Yeah RCPD has a bunch of hatch spawns upstairs, quite a lot around the library.

Hatch only spawns when there is only 1 survivor left alive

as others have said it won't be on second floor and it won't be at the edge of the map so don't walk against walls searching for it

It can spawn at the edge of the map... at least on the swamp maps I've found it at the edge multiple times.

It some times spawn on the small "hills" too.

As a newcomer, my suggestion is to have good earphones to hear the sound of a hatch, once you hesr try going to ity then youll see like ink coming from it and there it is, it is always somewhere on the ground, never in a high place

Good advice, but quite alot are playing dbd with no sound and or bad sound, so they can only find hatch by walking on it

this isn't entirely true actually. the hatch will spawn upstairs on the police station.
