how many killers/survivors do u get

i played during the free weekend and only had a few and it seems hard to unlock more wondering if u get more if u buy the game

No, what you had available on free weekend is what you get if you buy the game. There is a sale going on for a few more hours, most dlc half off. If you are interested.

Yes you have to grind to unlock most characters, but some are locked behind a paywall.

(Some DLC don't come with survivors or a killer, eg - Ghost Face, Leather Face, The Hour of the Witch DLC).

All Licensed DLC MUST be bought with real currency.

the time i played on free weekend i only played killers and actually kind of enjoyed it so i was kinda thinking about trying to get some more killers if i do get this game but idk it seems like the game devs are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥ so might not

if you want to play killer, you'll want to buy bubba, clown and probably hag since the game is pretty much unplayable without ruin/pop and bbq for every killer in the game
if you want to play survivor you're fine, just level up bill and david for BT and DH, Kindred is free

The Stranger Things Edition is the only one still on sale. Get it while you still can, cause all Stranger Things content in DBD is being delisted in like 2 weeks. It'll help bolster your roster a little bit, cause you get 3 additional characters (2 survivors, 1 killer).

Licensed (Movie or video game based) characters must be bought with money.

This is either by buying a dlc pack (Can contain multiple characters and sometimes cosmetics) or by buying auric cells (real money currency, $5 of cells can buy any character in the game even brand new ones).

Unlicensed characters, ones made up for this game by the devs, can also be bought with money in dlc or auric cells, HOWEVER you gain iridescent shards by playing and saving up 9,000 can buy any unlicensed character.

At the start you get 6 survivors and 4 killers, if I remember right.
Survivors are: Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, and Bill from Left4Dead.
Killers are: Trapper, Hillbilly, Nurse, and Huntress

If you complete the tutorial, you gain one additional survivor, David, and one additional killer, Wraith.

This game basically uses the same monetisation system that F2P phone games use.

At least there are no lootboxes, Yet.

It's definitely a fun game, especially when playing with friends. The devs do some questionable things, and majority of the playerbase do complain, but hey, they're still playing every day. I say do definitely get it!

This is the right answer. I humbly suggest you just walk away and find something else.



Survivor is really only fun when you play in a 3-4 man groups on voice coms that give you a huge advantage.

The game has a 100+ hour learning curve to be good at survivor and even longer for killer.

The free unlocks occur once a week in the shrine but usually 2-4 of the perks are things you can already unlock for free. To play killer you need very strong meta perks that are attached to specific killers (pop, corrupt, bbq, no way out, etc). Good perks are usually offered once or twice a year and new dlc perks have at least a year cooldown before they potentially appear in the shrine.

The game massively favors survivor over killer. Every big name streamer who plays both sides will tell you this if you won't take my word for it.

Of the free killers you get

1. Billy was amazing but was nerfed into oblivion (absolutely terrible now).
2. Trapper just got buffed but was previously one of the worst killers in the game
3. Wraith just got nerfed after being buffed earlier this year.
4. Nurse is the best killer in the game and the hardest killer to play learn. She's so difficult that you really cant pick her to learn how to play killer.
5. Huntress is also difficult to learn with because she and nurse both have reduced movement speed. But the Huntress has ranged attacks after a delay to wind up the throw.
