Patch notes for popular games. He just read the patch notes, page after page, accounting for every change made and new things introduced. He would later use this knowledge in the realm of the Entity to wreck four-man teams who hadn't read the patch notes.
At evil within he is slower, has basically no terror radius(6m I think), killer detection perks DO NOT work(prem, spine chill) and is best used to surprise or stalk ppl. He can stalk someone(even when you crouch etc, but not if there is sth solid between you and him, but as soon as your head shows he can further stalk you and gain pts and power. Once he stalks enough he reaches the next lvl od Evil Within - EW2. This makes him faster, gives him a bigger terror radius(16m) and he can lunge further. When he reaches EW3 by further stalking ppl he gets 60 seconds in which he can one-hit EVERYONE! He is way faster and his terror radius is normal (32m).
He gains power by "stalking". When he uses his stalking ability he moves slower. While stalking, if he gets line of sight on a survivor they glow with an aura and he gains power to his ability. He can only stalk each survivor for a limited amount of time before they no longer give him any more power. This is shown by the survivors aura changing from white to red. Once they turn red, he can no longer gain anything from stalking them.
In the 1st stage he's slower, has a smaller lunge attack, and has a VERY small terror radius (heartbeat range). Also, perks like Spine Chill and Premonition do not trigger during this stage. And once he passes this stage, he can not go back to lvl 1.
In his 2nd stage he gets a normal lunge attack and movement speed, and his terror radius is increased (still not the full size).
In his 3rd stage his attacks deal double damage (can down you in one hit), his terror radius is full size (like any other killer) and he moves faster. Once he hits this stage it only lasts for 60 seconds (unless adjusted by an add-on). After that time he goes back to stage 2 and has to charge up again.

He has no abilities that let him see through walls, only add ons. There are a couple of very rare add-ons that let him lock himself to either stage 1 or 2 and give him varying distance aura reading of survivors.

Obsession is a mechanic that ANY killer can use via perks. Not just Meyers.
If either a killer or survivor use a perk that involves obbsession, then an obbsession will be chosen at the start of the game that will have certain effects dependant on the perk that was used.
If no one uses an obsession perk, there will be no obsession during that game.
