Make sure you always report them in-game and send additional proofs to BHVR support, and they will handle your case. Though, the report must be valid, games rules are here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system
I have reported many ppl who were toxic and racist in the chat but they didn’t get banned. I had more than 25 pages of insults in my steam profile that were collected in one month. All from dbd players who lost and called me cheater, bad player etc. The community is way too toxic and devs don’t do anything against it.
After playing killer in red ranks for hundreds of hours, I was so frustrated about the game being survivor-sided and toxic. So, after most of the games, I became toxic after the matches I won. Lots of the people said they reported me (ironically, they were also as toxic as me and given me so many insults). Well, I wasn’t banned as well.
Devs even encourage toxicity by saying ‘We know how important t-bagging is for you’ etc... If they had actually taken proper actions against toxicity, I don’t believe the community would be like this. Most of the people act toxic just because they think others will be toxic to them.
I believe there are some minority that got banned, but majority of the toxic people still out there and this doesn’t do much against toxicity. I appreciate you can give them some evidence, but that shouldn’t be necessary in all cases. They should be able to see the reports’ in game activities.
How convenient! Looking forward to the undisclosed automated banning system speeding this up a bit.
Joking aside, I've had to do the "turn in extra evidence" gymnastics before; it was not easy to get everything done through the DbD site and I never heard back from the team. I actually encountered the problem individual again while waiting for a response and they took the match hostage in the exact same way (the old totem rock trick that took three months to patch out); I opted to just eat the DC penalty since that would take less time.
