In what way is this Silent Hill?

"Silent Hill" is a media, mostly video game, franchise that started in 1999.

For those who don’t know, it is considered one of most prominent "survival horror" game examples. Together with "Resident Evil", the games emphasize weapon handling, resource management, grotesque enemies, puzzle solving and recursive map unlocking.

Silent Hill specifically is oriented towards subconsciousness, doomsday cults and symbolism.

My question is:

in what way "Silent Hill" chapter in "Dead by Daylight" is supposed to bring a "Silent Hill" experience?

If all survivors select Heather Mason, choose only her specific perks, play in Midwich and the killer is Pyramid Head with only his specific perks, this is supposed to be "Silent Hill"?

How do Cheryl’s perks or the Pyramid Head’s perks or the Midwich map represent Silent Hill, other than cosmetics? You actually wanna say that if the exact same perks and abilities were brought with a completely different franchise (let’s say, "Clock Tower"), this wouldn’t be the exact same thing?

Replace Cheryl’s model with Jennifer’s, replace Pyramid Head’s model with Scissorman, leave perks as is, you will get an authentic Clock Tower multiplayer.

The problem with cosmetic extention packs is that they are... well... cosmetic packs that can be done with modding. Someone on youtube has already shown how a Resident Evil cosmetic pack can look like in this game. Why even bother?

I'm not sure what your issue is here.

You can also get Gmod and get half-life stuff and create maps, people still play Half Life.

The chapter is not about cosmetics but more focused on the survivor and killer. I understand you don't like Cheryl and Pyramid head for some reason but they're the main characters you see in the Silent Hill movie(Yes I know the original is game but do you really think there are more people who played the original video game than the people who watched the movie?) so they had a good reason to select them.

But its not cosmetic? It comes with perks and a killer with a unique power that was inspired by Silent Hill? If clocktower was a chapter in dbd the devs would be inspired to make different perks and a different killer power, it wouldn't be the same. Idk what your getting at here.
