my mouse lets me change the DPI on demand I change it to max when I'm charging as Billy. Forget what value it is but it's far higher than 1600.

But it’s hard to press the dpi click when you are turning on the chainsaw

Always maximum on ingame settings. Would recommend using Q/E for curving rather than mouse.

Max setting in-game and 1000 mouse DPI, Flicking isnt something you will learn from a video. Its mainly muscle memory.

As far as I understand, similarly to blight j flick, billy flick is a bug, and ultimately doing it is an exploit.

rebind q and e to turn left and right, turn controller sensitivity up to 100% (it affects keyboard turn speed) and then practice with that.

I doubt that it is an exploit, They have many times specifically kept it in and Its not like you have to change your sensitivity to do it.

You just turn a lot quicker at the beginning of your chainsaw, Thats it.

Actually, I believe that the devs acknowledged curving when they did they billy rework and said they wanted to keep it. Thus a feature, not an exploit. Jflick is only an exploit because the devs said they did not want it.

Thought so, I doubted they would unintentionally keep an exploit in for years. But you never know with these devs.

I time it so I spam the button once I start moving with the chainsaw.

Citation needed. I've seen no information about the flick for billy, other than that it was a bug. Otherwise there's very little results when trying to find anything about billy flick.

You're talking about devs that said they wanted to change iridescent head and even informed the community to not hold on to them over 2 years ago, and only just recently changed it with the most minor change from 3 max hatchets to 1.
And Blight who's high was bugged since release, also only recently fixed, so almost a year of that bug. Oh and ghost face, who still can be fully visible from the survivor and not be revealed, which is years old as well.

Like... yes, they absolutely would leave a bug in the game for many years that they are well aware of.

There are different kinds of flick for the Billy, Back in the old old days after you already ended your chainsaw dash you could turn your camera and still hit people. This kind of flick wasnt intended and got patched.

These days the flick people are talking about is just the increased turning speed at the beginning of his dash.
This is intended. Fun fact about it though is that before his rework it used to be affected by the "Controller speed" setting.

I do not recall seeing your citation when proclaiming it to be a bug. Nonetheless, here you go. You could have just googled it since I told you the source but here it is below:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/175171/release-information-4-1-0

And in case you do not want to search through that either, I took the time to find the direct quotation as well:

"Given that we’re already pretty happy with the way The Hillbilly performs, the changes to his base kit are minimal. We are not removing any of the options you have with his chainsaw (traversal, feathering, curving, etc.). Instead, we want to focus on the skill-based gameplay and put an emphasis on using your chainsaw effectively, only adding a small drawback to misusing your chainsaw."
