Is Hex: Ruin still used?
Im relatively new to DBD on PC but used to play a ton back around 2-3 years ago on playstation, and i remember hex ruin being used a whole lot even in lower ranked games. However i dont see it being used on PC, havent seen it used in a long time. did some change happen to the perk or are newbies just more common because of some of the new chapters? also sorry for the pretty useless discussion

yup killers do use hex: ruin at times. It works only with good combos and the entire perk depends on your luck, if your totem is hidden well or survivors don't bother about it you are well to go else if the survivors find your totem within 30 seconds of start you are gone as it is waste of perk slot. killer's prefer corrupt more than ruin now that's what i have seen all these days, most of the killer's running corrupt intervention rather than ruin as corrupt is way more reliable and consistent.

Ruin requires map pressure and risks losing perk if cleansed. Now that counterforce is out a lot of killers are using less hexes. Corrupt + pop is in general more reliable. They are all solid perks still. Also corrupt is very common now because it was on shrine week or two ago.

Ruin got changed a while back. It no longer gives you Hex Skillchecks but instead slowly regresses every gen automatically that isn't being worked on.
It is still really strong, but since it is a hex perk it is also easily taken out with unlucky totem spawns

I run a full hex build because Spirit + Hexes = Survivors pissing themselves when they get grabbed.

Or if the Survivors do their jobs and do the generators. It's incredibly weak outside of a 3 gen situation, and even then the regression is still slow enough that it won't do much to stop Survivors from completing the last generator.

Hex: Ruin still gets used fairly often. It's not nearly as strong as it used to be, so it's used much less now. And usually only when combo'd with another perk that synergizes well with it. Personally, I find I get more use out of Pop Goes the Weasel for slowing down gens..

Yes.Its not a REQUIRED perk now though

Ruin is pointless vs SWF teams but works well vs teams you would crush anyway.

Old school survivors know almost all the possible totem spawns and break ruin quickly. They radio over voice coms when they find a totem mid chase and tell their friend to break it.

The only way you can make it work is with undying too - but that takes up 2 perk slots.

And to make things worse there are really only ~3 good maps to use with totems.

1. Lerys
2. Dead dog saloon
3. Game

Use a map offering with the totem and it will probably work out fine.

Yes, it's a very good perk as long as it lasts.

Do you mean hex value or actual lifespan of totem in general? As survivor with <inner strength> and <for the people> Totem wise I hope I get deceased canine saloon and pallet city

Changes were made to the perk, some still use it, I find it pointless.

It allows you to apply a lot of pressure, Especially If you decide to use it with Undying,

You mean it requires you to apply pressure for it to work.

No, I mean that with It you can create a lot of pressure due to the gen regression.
