How do you define the sexual orientation of character ? I mean out of ace who got a ring and Susie …
They literally made a pride charm and that's still not enough for them I guess.
I also know for the fact that if Devs release gay/ LGBTQ character there will be snowflakes upset complaining that they released "over the top" stereotypical gay character.
The devs would get a lot of flak for not being able to deal with this kind of behavior.
The teams for balance or gameplay are different than the teams who make characters. It's not the coder's who are gonna be planning this character. Plus, the creative team making characters is going to be making characters anyway, so it's not exactly harder to make one unique. And I'm sorry, but claiming that snowflakes would complain if one was added while complaining about why one shouldn't be added is ironic. Especially since LGBTQ representation means a lot to LGBTQ people, while it shouldn't affect your gameplay at all.
I don't think the reason that we can't have LGBTQ characters is because homophobes play the game.
Plus people get tunneled lots as is, so unless the killer explicity say's they tunneled you because you were playing a LGBTQ character then I don't think anyone would even notice something out of the ordinary. And if they do say that, then BHVR can act.
I'm sure their risk management team has already thought problems that this can cause.
First of all this is most toxic game i've ever played. Some players sole purpose is to make you angry, upset. I know some of my female friends get tunneled more by killers if their profile mentions anything abaut their gender
I know for the fact that if they release stereotypical gay looking character, that person will get camped& tunneled more and harashed.
This can cause negative influence from mainstream media of dead by daylight being toxic homophobic game, which will directly hurt dbd devs money income.
I don't need a character who is explicitly non binary to "feel seen. So not only would that alienate the 94% percent of the western world who aren't LGBTQ, it would alienate a great deal of the 6% too.
Let the game be inclusive by tackling homophobia, and not token characters.
Yes. It may not look like it matters if you aren't part of a marginalized group, but it makes a real difference to the people being under represented. One guy on this thread said he would cry (tears of joy) if a they/them was added, and I can see why. I can't name a single they/them character in any medium, which shows how rare it is. Having a character which represents a part of you that never get's acknowledged in media is important. Almost every character in every media is a cis heterosexual, yet anytime any other sexuality wants to be represented there is backlash. I'm sure it's deleted by now by mods, but there was a post as a response to this one titled "Literally no one cares about your sexuality" where they used the phrase "entitled gays."
Would it actually bother you if a character were to be LGBTQ in some way? Because it can make a world of difference to a lot of people, and if you want to take that away simply because sexuality isn't important to you then you need to rethink why you care so much.
There aren't. Not one. Not a bisexual, or an asexual, or anything. I've read backgrounds, I googled it, I read every comment on this thread, so trust me that there isn't.
