uncap fps to 120

50 fps is better than 60, 120 is better than 60 while 50 to me feels the most superior. Mainly for movement

The game has poor performance right now, just wait for the performance update. Till then there's temporary fixes, like things to edit your files that make your game look a little worse but more FPS

What is the Hz of your computer monitor? A 60hz monitor can only see 60fps for example. You can check by right clicking your desktop and selecting Display settings. Scroll to the bottom and click on advanced Display settings. What is your Refresh rate (Hz) set to? My monitor supports 240 so I have mine at 240 but when I first got the monitor I had to change it from 60 to 240.

Also, if you play on PC than I suggest you change the FPS to 120. This is the max FPS allowed.
On the bottom left of your computer search for %appdata% and click on the file folder. Then go back in folders by clicking AppData then Local > DeadByDaylight > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor > Open the file called GameUserSettings with Notepad. Scroll to the bottom and change
FrameRateLimit=0 to FrameRateLimit=120.
bUseVSync=True to bUseVSync=False

Save the document and right click the file called GameUserSettings. Click Properties and check Read-only (this will make it so the game won't change any settings) However, if you want to change settings you have to upcheck it again to do so. If you go in game and change settings it will work but will revert back to what you have in the file when the game is reloaded until Read-only is unchecked.

In Steam click on "Steam" top left. Settings, In-game, and turn on In-Game FPS Counter
Jump into the Survivor Tutorial and see if you're getting 120 FPS.

The higher your FPS the smoother the gameplay because your monitor is providing the most up-to-date frame.

You have a 144hz monitor? Also, do you think it might be internet issue? Do an internet speed test online and see what your Upload Mbps is. 1.5 is a solid amount for one person using the internet. When I play DBD on my girlfriends laptop, it's hard to play. It seems choppy because she only gets 40-55 FPS compared to my super computer. It was also hard to hit skill checks because there was an obvious delay meanwhile my computer it's easy to hit great skill checks.

Are you using a T.V? The input lag of a T.V doesn't make 60fps look as smooth as a 1ms monitor.

That's true, a 1ms response time gaming monitor is better than a TV that might have a 5ms response time.

im using an asus with 144hz and 1ms. btw steam shows as my fps counter steady 60fps or 120fps but it just doesnt look smooth if u know what i mean and it also doesnt feel like it i also btw have already enabled the 144hz could it be that the problem is borderless window? because i recently changed on my cod black ops to borderless and now it looks less smooth somehow.

You can try full screen or update your graphic drivers.

the games been wonky since the event started, but you can get above 120 easily. Just be aware the UI is capped at 60 so skill checks etc

so actually i did now alot of things it seems like it is an problem with windowed borderless actually people with 2 or more monitor can accure this bug it cant be fixed i tried it on my black ops 1 and even windows borderless was on and it showed 144fps it wasnt as smooth as with fullscreen and i googled and found some people that had the same issue. so i tweaked a little bit and finally turned vsync on and capped the fps on 120 after also doing something with my driver and it finally worked the game is now smooth like butter man thx for all the help :D

Nice to see the same old terrible advice being constantly passed around by copy/pasters that haven't a clue what they're even copy and pasting

It's mid 2021 C'MON I know this is steam forums and thinking is hard but holy moly...

Read-only? Always makes me LOL in real life
Uncapped FPS? Sure why not what could possibly go wrong?
Frameratelimit set to anything other than =0.00000? FOR SURE

Ever notice people that do these things are always like "oh ya this game is so buggy" and never once consider maybe they should stop screwing with things especially when they don't even have the slightest clue.

Seriously, as soon as you see someone suggest "read-only" you need to ignore everything they suggest because that's equal to following the advice on anything from someone that "knows" the earth is flat.

Steam forums... so lol
