How to not suck as Nemesis?
I need answers please! I like this dude and I want to enjoy playing him :(

People tend to panic more if they are hurt so as a rule punch first and whip later. Only whip twice early on if possible try to hit the first two people you see if they have bad movement or will be animation or path locked. You should know what both of those are as an idea; buy play him for 100 games and you will for sure know what that actually "means".

Learn where you can whip over and where you cant. This is a journey for you to figure out.

Find a build to make him work. This will take you some time but I use : Bamboozle, BBQ, Pop and STBFL.

At red rank play you need short chases. Bamboozle when used correctly says : get off the tile or go somewhere else. It prevents use of otherwise broken tiles where people can "get 3 loops easy". Bam also prevents RNG tile chaining. It can force the killer hut pallet to be used or force a hit on the first loop when used correctly against survivors who dont know you have it. So don't show you have it at the first loop if possible.

You have 2 goals with this build. First to try and get quick whips but dont punish yourself doing it. If you whip 2 different people you will go to tier 2 but if you whip the same person you need 3 whips on them and a zombie - this makes no sense btw.

After that you build up STBFL stacks. Gens go fast because you don't have a movement power but you can still get 2-3 pops per game that will change the outcome. On certain maps you can severely punish and just keep hook rotating on a 3 gen or 4 gen (like suffocation pit). Try to never fall below 6 stacks. If the STBFL target is being cheeky with safe looping 99% of them will revert to panic play when hurt.

Unlike every other killer in the game time is on your side in the case of a 3 gen standoff. There are only 4 vaccines and the zombies will help you.

What addons to use? There are 4 I bother using as I have tested them and they make a huge difference. Use either the brown or yellow addons that increase zombie speed and detection. The difference for both is night and day regarding the number of hits they get and how much pressure they put on survivors.

Tunnel people out of the game. Why? Because you're not nurse or spirit and you can't move very fast to hit pops. It is very common for people to finish a gen right as you get there. Actually it is very common for me to be 1 second early or late. So greet them with a punch if they want to push generators. You can down them sometimes before they get to a new tile thanks to STBFL.

If you are doing well you kill someone and there's 1 generator left. If you are doing super well then you have a nice 3 gen setup close. You are going to smash the fools left if the obsession is dead. If you are doing poorly but have one person on the hook at the time of gen completion do not despair. You can sill turn the game into a 4k quite often. Why? Because now you have 8 stacks and it's time for pain. People try to do the normal rescue nonsense but if you punch them before they get to the hook you can down them again before they can rescue. If you hit them punching you can hit them twice and trade. This is beautiful.

Yesterday I finished a 4 man team who had an 8k hr player, two 3k hr players in a swf and another 3k hr player who was either solo or with one of the other players. They said I was bad and was carried by my perks. Meanwhile let me tell you that I had everyone on the floor, dead or on a hook at one point. One of the floor characters raised the other with unbreakable. I punched them both out before they got to the gates. Meanwhile the third on the hook used deliverance. I punched her out too and hooked them all. The two on coms got me 3 times with flashlight saves and I still won. It was an open corn map and they were strategically dying in the open so there was nothing I could do to stop it.

Notes :
-you should probably dodge 2 flashlight lobbies. Zombies do nothing with a light in their face.
-why is it important to get tier 2 whip? Because most survivors all try the same thing against every killer. Position yourself between them and the way they want to go then quick break the pallet. Now you get a free punch.
-If you have 8 or 6 stacks and the STBFL is really annoying punch them. Survivors who are "ahead" will often dive in to block for a friend in a chase. Foolishly this makes you more powerful.
-do not be afraid to punch the newly rescued survivor off a hook. You get a stack from STBFL. In the case of the obsession you can wait for their feet to touch and perfectly time a whip right when they get off if you got there "early".
- Do not be afraid to chase the obsession first. You have no stacks to lose so you can get the BBQ stack out of the way. If you show them you are not afraid to punch them then they will be far less cocky later.
-Do not throw the game on account of not being able to hit a STBFL target with a whip. Having 4 stacks and one guy dead is a very nice advantage if 2-3 gens are left.
-Higher level whips give you more range and speed up recovery time. But all you really need is tier 2 to break those pallets. On very open maps vs skilled survivors this can be hard. Whip a few zombies or just break normally.
-Punch any zombie you see who is headbanging and not moving. Punch any zombie who is stuck on strange terrain pathing. If both zombies are in the same place punch one out. You do not want one survivor dancing them both around 99% of the time. You want them to mess with one person each while you are busy.
-I tried Erupt and it's nice but people on coms call out they are going down so others stop working.
- Late game if you are chasing someone and they are not infected and are not the STBFL try not to whip them at a pallet. What? That's right break the pallet then cover the distance to punch them. This is faster - I promise.
-Since you are going to use bamboozle be mean with it. Do what the survivor never expects and go through the side during chase that links "back to useful terrain". This is a free hit around the 10 second mark if they have not seen you use Bam before.
-If you are going to get nothing with a punch but you can get a whip hit do that - unless they get out with a speed burst during EGC.

You really think they play the killer side?

Take your M1's where you can get it. You aren't getting style points trying to whip everyone, and your penalty for missing is heavy. Save it for animation locks, narrow corridors, and other areas where you are quite sure you will hit it.
Learn that the tentacle does have a lingering hit box, and you can strafe it into a survivor.
Understand that the zombies are helpful even if they didn't block vault points, or get a down. Their detection lets you know "Hey, survivor near this gen!" while you are on the other side of the map. This alone is something killers would give a perk slot up for.

IMO your best add ons are Marvin's blood and admin wristband.

Thanks so much!
Yeah I learned that his whip is only good for breaking pallets (when getting Tier 2 ofc). The way it give them speed boost even tho they're healthy is so bad. Survivors doesn't get speed boost when Plague vomit on them so why with Nemsis?

Anyway, thanks again for the tips.

Yeah, it really makes no sense. Just incentivices to M1 because it's rarely worth it to use the whip on a healthy survivor. And that just leads to pretty boring gameplay (as well as a slightly underpowered killer).

He can be kinda hard to play...I use the tentacles myself as it's fun but can be hard to hit. Most times people dodge it, sometimes I get lucky with it at a pallet or while going through a window but not usually...and think need to be at tier two for that.

What do you mean bu M1? The basic attack/ punch for Nemesis.

Don't listen to him, he's just being an idiot.
Nemesis is not over the top OP. He's not even nearly as good as the best killers

He plays by the book like most of the killers and requires more work to get the job done.
His tentacle isn't really much unless you get contamination on the survivors and get it up to tier 2 or 3. Even the first hit will give them a speed boost, so they're already meters away to another loop before you can actually damage them.
But that doesn't mean it's all too bad. He can deny a lot of vaults and pallet drops if you're consistent with your tentacles.

So if you can get them contaminated; that's great.
But the game will go down south pretty fast if the survivors don't care to vaccinate themselves. It takes precious time to get to and rummage through the vaccine chest that could have been used to repair a gen instead.
So pressure gens too and don't go on long chases that'll take you away from gens.

Just keep playing more and eventually you'll get better. Play some survivor games too, so you can understand how a survivor will play and use that to your knowledge.

TL;DR Nemesis is not OP, don't feel bad if you're not getting consistent wins with him. Just keep playing more and you'll get better. No worries.

I mean they might play killer, but they're definitely not good at it. Still remember seeing the old clip of mathieu playing hag on Asian servers, got completely trashed.

I do play survivor, generally Jill. I switch off...after dying a lit as survivor I switch to killer for a round or two (depending on wait times) and back again.

Also his ability to break pallets at a slight range, and move during the break, and doesn't have his camera fixed down at the pallet, is not something to be ignored. It's quite useful.
