I tried 2130x1440 but its not working well in game, I can't click on some stuff on the screen etc. 1600x1080 was working fine before in full hd
I doubt you'll find many players willing to help you take advantage of an exploit here.
Tons of known youtubers are talking about it, playing in those res or streaming like this
I mean I didn't know it was an exploit, almost everyone plays like that?
BHVR considers it cheating and using stretched res causes unintended interactions with the screen, such as seeing over loops you shouldn't be able to as survivor, or shifting and changing where your camera is on killer, making you immune to regular flashlight blinds since your camera isn't where it's supposed to be, and flashlight blinds rely on where the killer's camera is.
i'd be willing to help but i don't know what he's doing wrong.
also there was no official statement whatsoever that it's cheating. i do it, i admit it openly and i won't be banned for it, therefore it's not cheating
Not_Queen said it was cheating and I'd rather believe her considering she works at BHVR.
Besides, you can't get banned on DBD for saying something on Steam, or Facebook, or any other platform.
To that end, just because something is cheating doesn't mean they explicitly ban for it. I doubt anybody got banned for looking up what the killer was or what perks they were using by reading logs inside the game's folder. Obviously cheating and not intended design, but not something anyone got banned over.
Not_Queen who isn't a Dev said ONE TIME IN ONE STREAM OFFHANDEDLY that she considers it cheating.
Using normal aspect-ratios is fine. For example if you use 1650x1080 on a native 1920x1080 screen and stretched you'd see...
EXACTLY
THE
SAME
AS
YOU'D
SEE
IF
YOU
WERE
USING
A
MONITOR
WITH
NATIVE
OF
1650x1080
Same goes with 5:4 or 4:3 or 3:2 on a 16:9.
It's only when people use 1:1 or very close to it that it gives some advantage but it's not even nearly as dramatic as the 8 people that are always constantly crying in every post relating to stretched about it being cheating in the forums make it out to be, also none of them have ever been able to provide proof of it being cheating or an actual Dev saying anything about it, it always goes back to Not_Queen mumbling literally one comment one time about her considering it to be cheating. So lol.
Also OP has a 16:9 so he doesn't need to stretch anything.
Same made up stuff... different day. Why not spend 1% of the time that you waste on here every single day posting, so many times every day, repeating the same things endlessly and put that time into looking into what you're mindlessly repeating and how wrong you are about almost everything.
Wrong.
If you're using fullscreenMode=1 then you just need your desktop set to what you want the game to use.
By the sounds of it you're using FullscreenMode=0 and have the wrong values in the resolutionsize lines. So if you're using fullscreenmode=0 then these two resolution lines matter (meaning the game uses them and doesn't ignore them as it does in FullscreenMode=1) and should be set to what you want the game to use.
You say QHD so 2560x1440 so make sure your monitor is set to that and that these lines match in your GameUserSettings.ini
FullscreenMode=0
ResolutionSizeX=2560
ResolutionSizeY=1440
The other lines relating to resolution and mode don't matter, save file normally do not use read-only that's a meme that is copy/pasted advice given by people that don't know anything at all about how even the most basic things work they also suggest silly things like using launch parameters and most likely can't even tie their own shoes.
2560x1440 is the normal resolution of my screen. Like 1920x1080 for the old one.
On my old full hd screen I used to play a bit on 1600x1080. Thats what I call 'stretched res'
1600x1080 was great. I'm trying to find the values for a 2560X1440 monitor but so far I couldn't.
So basically if you use Fullscreen=1 then it ignores the res you type in? Then I should try again 2130x1440 and put fullscreen=0?
