is trickster bad?

i just bought this killer and he feels very sluggish, why is he so slow? and why does throwing mode slow him down to a crawl? it makes the power pretty much useless in loops with high walls, some maps just outright turn him into an m1 killer with a slow modifier, will behaviour ever buff him?

Play him a bit, you will find out. Hes like huntress, you ran run people down, then use ur ranged attack point blank and then M1 them after they get fully stacked on for a down.

Most ranged killers have slower movement speed cause their danger zone is bigger than melee killers. Like with deathslinger, I often catch people faster cause they are running back and forth while i keep going streight at them and aim down my sigts every now and then to keep them weaving.

hes slow because thats behaviors way of balancing the fact that he has a ranged attack. They borrowed that philosophy from huntress but they forgot that he has to continually throw daggers i guess idk. but yea, hes one of the weakest killers in the game right now.

but deathslinger and huntress can actually bring people down a healthstate in a moment of exposure, trickster has to somehow land a bunch of knives on their back

Slightly longer answer: It's debatable whether Trickster is worse than Clown, but they are both hanging out at the very bottom of the killer tier list.

They wanted a killer to appeal to k-pop stans, maybe? I mean, lots of people love the Trickster's aesthetics, and his backstory is super dark, plus he can be fun to use in an indoor map, but he's just not viable in higher ranked matches.

the aesthetics aren't the problem, i feel like a big part of this killer's kit is locked behind addons and some ♥♥♥♥ doesn't even make sense, why do basic attack take away laceration meter and why don't the knives ricochet on their own

At the very, VERY least, the Lame Event meter should not go away until you decide to use it.

right? the event thing isn't even good, it slows you down and makes looping around you easier in most circumstances, the fact that he has not been buffed yet worries me, why is behaviour so slow?

He is not the strongest killer that is for sure, but he is not terrible. Like they said you should play him for a bit and know his limits. Most of the time I wont bother with high loop or shack. If you see a survivor in open area spam knives at em, you have at least 60.

He is also surprisingly good in indoor maps like meat plant and Hawkings. If you can body block survivors in a room injuring them with your knives gives them the speed boost, but it doesn't allow them to phase through you. They'll stay trapped in the room and you're free to take them down. I just did that earlier to 3 survivors doing the last generator in the corner room with the bodies on the floor in Gideon. It felt really good.

He's also hot af, that makes up for weaknesses. <3

Highly dependent on the addons.

More so than any other killer in my opinion. With certain addons its crazy how fast he can build the meter.

A lot of people consider him one of the worst, probably only better than Legion, without addons, but the thing is everyone who plays to win uses addons. Therefore, I don't really consider him one of the weakest killers

He has the ability to make the survivor drop the pallet earlier.

Spirit, Huntress, and Deathslinger also make you drop the pallet earlier. There's just other parts of their kit that make them much more difficult to play against. Clown is another killer that can make you drop pallets earlier, but again, that's all he can really do.

A very valuable ability, but alone it's not going to be enough on certain maps against a competitive team. The key word there is competitive team though, which you will not be going against that often, so I guess you could also say context matters here too.

You can really have a strong win rate on any killer in this game just because most survivors play this game like it's hide and seek.
