New killer is the Wendigo?
It may not be called "The Wendigo" but I am 100% confident that this is what the new killer is.
Wendigos come from Native American Folklore, much like the Oni comes from Japanese Folklore, meaning more creatures from Folklore are possible since the Oni is in the game, not ruling out the Wendigo either. Even if it is the Wendigo, that doesn't mean it will be a licensed chapter, because Until Dawn did not come up with the concept of them.

If you have played Until Dawn, you'll notice the Wendigo's sounds in that game are similar to the sounds we hear in the Chapter 18 teaser. The killer/monster in the teaser also attacks with a hand, and not a weapon, Wendigos typically use claws to gore their prey, which is typically humans. The legend says that people that resort to cannibalism are eventually possessed by Wendigo spirits.

Wendigo are also rumored to be seen in northern forests, and the forest in the teaser has snow clearly falling in the background.

Paulie Esther and King have also talked about this theory, and I am really convinced that this is the case, even before watching their videos.

What do you think the next killer will be?

Do you think it will be a Wendigo?

What will the ability be? If it is a Wendigo, they have poor eyesight, but they can climb walls and are very agile, will it be able to climb walls? If not, what do you think the killer's ability will be?

I discuss this someplace else. Wendigo have stretch like long arms. The teaser if you stop to see the arm: the arm looks like a calf or a bodybuilder like woman's arm.

I thought the Hag already fit into the wendigo trope?

I'm honestly not excited if it is the Wendigo from Until Dawn.
Until Dawn is great and all but let's look at the wendigo itself in that game, it crawls and jumps from walls and ceilings and has a lunge, in a game like DbD with a lot of open areas that doesn't seem very likely to be used, meaning it will just be a killer with a lunge like demogorgon?

Edit: They also can't sense you when you stand still, not sure how that will be implemented.

She does kinda have Wendigo traits, except for the way she moves imo. Wendigo are very quick and can leap from vantage point to vantage point to hunt their prey.

I thought they did great with the game, didn't even play it and I think that. They set up scenarios for about every situation/fail that you encounter.

I just went and watched the trailer, and we can really quickly rule out a licensed killer because they have a much more elaborate trailer when they are being released, and I honestly believe that it's going to be a Wendigo, and I am super stoked about that as someone who believes that they could be out there this excites me.

That's not universal though. It's the case in the game until Dawn, but I highly doubt that's their description in the original tale.

I think a wendigo is likely. Though hag is a tad too similar to one lore-wise, it wouldn't be the first killer that resembles others.

its just not my kind of game. i thought id give it a chance since its horror and i love horror but the kind of game is not for me ( interactive movie games). i get so bored when it holds your hand and does everything for you. then only asks you to press a quick time event every 5 mins Zzzzz but each to their own.
