They've always been a little flaky from what I remember over the last couple years plus you have to use god awful geforce experience to use freestyle so I've always use ReShade, works flawlessly! High recommend it.

Try going to the geforce experience settings and toggle off and back on the in game overlay option.
The difference is much more drastic when people play on LOW graphic settings to gain an advantage, which is obviously not bannable.
All I do with these filters is bump sharpness and color saturation a little bit so the game doesn't look as washed out as it normally does.
I'm not saying it *cannot* be used as an exploit. I'm sure if you wanted to, you could lower the shadow and crank up contrasts to such a degree that it actually makes you able to see stuff on maps like swamp, yamaoka or the new autohaven. Just like some people will use a plugin to paste a crosshair on their screen for playing huntress, or use audio filters to selectively make footsteps louder... You'd be surprised to what lengths some people go to gain advantages in some silly game just because they want to win.
I just want my pink bunny sweater to look pink. :p

Ok this is a legit reason for me lol. I would do the same if there was a filter that made my Jake's hair look normal again.
I use filters to make the maps look better (Badham Preschool gets moonlight, Ormond looks cold rather than dark, etc) and the menu to look pretty.
AFAIK the only way to use Freestyle is through GFX...?
I imagine you have it but just don't realize you're using it or something along those lines. How do you bring it up? Alt-Z or ALT-F3? That's GFX.
