Am I the only one disappointed and happy by Élodie Rakoto? (character analysys)

So, new PTB came out, new killer, yee yee, everything all right. but can we focus on survivor for a bit?
You know how sometimes we get killers with bad powers but good perks? Well that's the case for our new survivor known as "El" or "Elod", "Elodie" or however you wanna call her.

And I've got to admit, that she has good perks, maybe not meta, but I guess you can expect them as often as perk "inner" from Nancy.

(I don't have acess to perks discriptions right now so I will write them out of my mind)

perk 1:
"this perk increases speed of searching the boxes by 80% and grants you 3 tokens, each token alows you to search chest 1 more time."

this means that 1 survivor can get 4 items from 1 box (3 if box was already opened)
as we can already think this perk will be only used in item farm builds, but it's rly nice since we didn't had 4th perk for these builds, now you can go with plunder, ace in the hole, pharmacy and this perk (and maybe +2 chests offering) and this alone grants 8 items with add-ons that have higher rarity, and this might be rly usefull in game.
and if you have friends who play for fun they might also bring offerings+this perk to get 23 items +4 items you start with (if I'm not mistaken) and since toolboxes speed buff, fact how flashlights work on killer's mentality and keys that with this kind of builds have good 90% to spawn at least once.

perk 2:
"this is a cooldown perk, while runing try juming into a locker to create notification for killer and leave no marks for 3 seconds"

this perk might have a big number of synergies, like head on, dance with me, Q&Q, ect. this will be a rly good troll perk, especialy good on spirit and nurse.

perk 3:
"if you wiggle to 25% you get ablility to throw down palets next to the killer, you can stun them and breake free"

this perk is like DS v2.0 it perk might seem useless/op at first but it's much more. alone this perk might not be so good but what about other "ground-wiggle perks"?
Imagine this build: DS, this perk, Flip Flop and unbreakeable (or soul guard). this build makes true lose/lose situations for killers:
pick up fast- DS
pick up later- new perk+flip flop
don't pick at all- unbreakeable
And while this might sound rly good/op we all know that no one will play this because why when you can go with "the meta" (DS, unbreakeable, adrenaline, DH or BT).
overall I see this as fun perk and key factor in some builds that no one will use.


And now. why I'm disappointed by El? it's because of her look. Like how many of you thought tha on trailer it was claudett+david?
And that's what this character is, ripoff of claudett:
hair- claudett has gold and white dress with bush like hair, this is just bush+
shirt- very inpracticle for iding, looks cool, especialy as deafult skin but it's meh imo. And isn't this shirt looking familiar to you? I think jane got somethig simular in 2nd rift.
legs- they look acually pretty cool, and I have no idea why claudett can't get something like this, like, every survivor has these black like pants, and claudett has mostly dark green/brown or she gets them with skirt or something.


So what do you think of the new survivor?

Wont be using her perks at all but she looks absolutely nothing like Claudette. Claudette is very dark skinned and Elodie is simply not at all...and their faces are entirely different. Clothes are clothes and hair is hair anyone can have similar hair and basic crop tops. Do any of the survivors have that much of a unique basic outfit? We can probably see more when they add cosmetics for her. If you put certain outfits on Kate and Meg and such it can be hard to tell them apart too, especially when they are in a janky short trailer lmao

I appreciate the rundown of her perks. Thank you for that.

Sadly the reality is her perks will see no more use than other so-called useful perks looking at, you zarina and mason.

The meta is the meta for a reason. It's there to combat glaring gameplay problems and player behavior.

As long as those problems exist nothing will change that.

Now me personally, perk 2 seems interesting but I'll need to read the official description. Seems like dance with me will be better for Q&Q.

Earlier, I was watching a lot of different Twitch streamers trying to find someone playing the new survivor, but everyone was either playing the new killer or old survivors, but there seemed to be a lot of Claudettes with a cosmetic I never seen before too. Then I saw a streamer who was in a lobby and realized the Claudette look-a-like was the new survivor. She looks more light skinned in the lobby. She seems to be on the thiccer side too, somewhere between Kate and Jane.

She looks nothing like Claudette in-game. Completely different face, body type and also skin tone. She also has a completely different voice in-game too and a different lobby-waiting animation.

The only similarities they have is that they are both black, but even then, they have completely different skin tones. And people are saying ♥♥♥♥ like "Well, their hair also looks the same etc in certain cosmetics". Well duh, I'm assuming they both have Afro-Caribbean hair so they're going to have similarities there.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed lmao but even I can tell the difference easily. It's not hard. Just because she's black doesn't mean she looks exactly like the only other black female character. Only similarities they have is hair texture and skin tone (which is completely different anyway, Elodie is waaaaay lighter skin toned)

Hm, they have to give up BT that way, UB can be replaced with adrenaline, DH, or some exhaustion perk.

Well, it doesn't look that strong. Especially if there's no pallet, they would have to run to another pallet immediately. There's a lot of situation where I don't see this build coming in that handy though. But, that would only be if you figured out what sort of build they have I suppose

Well, it doesn't look that strong. Especially if there's no pallet, they would have to run to another pallet immediately. There's a lot of situation where I don't see this build coming in that handy though. But, that would only be if you figured out what sort of build they have I suppose

Tenacity might be good instead of unbreakable. You can get to a pallet faster and recover at the same time. ofc it wont be a meta build, but could give the player some fun moments

She looks nothing like Claudette. You only know of one black female character so when you see a black female character you automatically assume it's Claudette because it's all you're used to. They look nothing alike. it will take some getting used to then all you people saying they are rip offs wil realize they: Look Nothing Alike
