251 awards is not a big success?
I'm most certainly not trolling or a catfish but thanks for caring so much about me that you need to try and make that claim. Please keep your incel comments to yourself and focus on the discussion instead of the background of the person making the statement.
i just got thrown off on how you mentioned games like The Witcher (Single Player) and skyrim (nothing relevant to dbd either) with a title saying "DBD Competitors"
My comment wasn't related to the title it was related to the statement in the post calling this game an "EA-wannabe". That comment to me implies that OP thinks this game is a failure, and how do you judge if a movie, tv show, or a game is a success in the eyes of the studio and critics? You look at how much money they rake in. Thats where I brought up those games, the Witcher 3 has earned around $300 million in revenue since its launch according to what I can find online, DBD has raked in an average of 30-40 million a year since its launch as well, except it took a fraction of the money to develop, so on the low end DBD has made around $120 million since launch, with the higher end potentially being closer to $200 million (i cant find revenue for every year or quarter online so I am estimating based on the publicly available numbers for quarterly revenue)
So for a game like this to put up numbers like that as compared to what we can all agree is a triple A game, I can't see how OP can call this game a wannabe. In another few years if it keeps going at this rate it will surpass the Witcher 3 in revenue.
The fact that I just had to break this down and explain it shows how blind people are to what is considered a successful game by the industry.
OP is referring to the quality of the game's state and it's content. It's been plagued with gamebreaking bugs and horrendous balance issues since launch 4 years ago. Just because people keep buying into its potential to be something great doesn't mean its a good product, it just means it's the only thing of its kind and the marketing team is good enough at supressing all the negative hype surrounding it to keep getting sales despite it being a dumpster fire from a quality assurance perspective.
