It's true. Also, botany knowledge affects healing others as well, so it's never a wasted slot. Most useful to counter mangled, which slows down healing, it's almost a 1:1 counter, bringing the total healing time pretty close to normal without modifiers. Not exactly, but I don't remember the difference, it's close.
It's one of the better perks, though obviously not for all builds.
For the combo , all depend of your. Do you feel confident to drop two perks slot for that ? If yes go ahead.
Botany knowledge + normal heal (16 seconds) = 12 seconds.
Des Measures I think drops it by 10 seconds.
They run it with urban evasion and just hide from the killer, hook farm survivors, and self care safely hidden. Going around breaking totems and whatever else
It's not helpful by any means but it gets them enough to usually pip or safety pip, and a lot of BP in general even if they get lousy teammates.
People do it to basically be proactive and be the crappy teammate themselves first; before others can be.
Explanation: You need 16 charges to flll up the healing bar to complete the heal. Normally, with a med-kit, you put 1 charge per second, taking normal 16 seconds to heal.
Now with Self-Care, you heal by 50% of the normal speed, it means you will be putting 0.5 charges per second insteade of 1.0, so (0.5 X 32) = 16, so it will take 32 seconds to heal with self care. With Botany, the healing speed is increased by 33%, so you will be putting 0.66 charges per second, (0.66 x 24) = 16, so it will take 24 seconds to fully heal. You will always need to reach 16 charges to fully complete the action, so just multiply the charge for the time needed.
And yes it does stacks with other perks that increase healing speed. Desperate Measures for example, with 1 stack, it increased by 14%, combined with Botany, you will be putting 0.73 charges per second, so (0.73 X 22) = 16, taking 22 seconds to heal.
With 4 stacks of Desperate Measures (56% increase) + Botany Knowledge (33% increase) + Self-Care (original 0.5 charges per second) = You will be putting 0.94 charges per second, (0.94 x 17) = 16(15.98 to be precise), so with all these stacked, you can heal in 16 seconds, the same speed that you heal using a med-kit or other survivor.
Just to make it clear, the bonus healing is from the base value. So you need to get the % from the 0.5 from the original Self-Care value, and not from the cumulative charges from other healing speed perks.
For self-care+botany,so 50+33=83% of normal. If you were to take 16/24x100=66% which is completely wrong.
Correct: 16/19x100~83% so its 19 seconds
Unless Botany changes the base to 130% of normal then halving it with self care then i would agree.
