Is there a reasonable solution to Easy Anti-Cheat Untrusted system file (C:\Windows\System32\normaliz.dll)
DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe Application error

According to their website you might have to reinstall Windows, and there's no chance in hell Im doing that . . .

I figured out its not just DBD its literally every game on Steam that uses EAC doesnt work.

And yeah I used SFC scannow

I assume you've made an antivirus (including windows virus & threat protection services) exception to EAC files/folders? I also add steam and DBD.

When you did SFC /scanow I wonder if you did it correctly.

Here's what you should have done, and if you haven't or didn't then I would follow these steps exactly to make sure:

1. Open command prompt as admin and enter:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

2. Wait for it to complete.

3. Assuming no errors or issues found then in same admin command prompt enter:

SFC /scannow

4. Wait for it to complete. If anything is found, restart system.

5. Open command prompt as admin and enter:

sfc /scannow

6. Wait for it to complete. If anything is found, reboot and run command again.

7. Repeat until it find no problems or errors.

Next thing I would suggest doing is the following:

Go to this folder ~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist

Inside you'll find these 4 folders:

2010
2013
2015 <--You're going to skip this folder
2019

One at a time go into each folder start at 2010 then inside each one (as admin) run these files and choose repair option

vcredist_x64.exe
and then
vcredist_x86.exe

Back out of that folder, go into the next one and repeat until you've done all 3 folders *2010 / 2013 / 2019*

Once those are done go to this folder: ~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

As admin run:

DXSETUP.exe

Accept, and click next a couple of times and let it do its thing..

Edit: Just noticed that they took out 2008 from there so when done use search or whatever to open add/remove programs and look for:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables

Pick each one and select the repair option.

When done restart system and see if that'll do the trick.

Did you go to

~\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\EasyAntiCheat

Delete the folder "Certificates"

Run EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe as Admin

Choose Dead By Daylight and click "Repair Service" and when it's done click "Finish" and then see if you can play?

Check to see if you have any malware on your machine.

Wait the game launches now but in game it says EAC client cannot be instantiated. And I cant play and it closes immediately after that.

Ok try deleting all EAC folders in these locations:

~Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat

~Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\EasyAntiCheat

Delete DBD's easy anticheat launcher file named DeadByDaylight.exe that is located here:
~Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\

Then empty recycle bin, reboot for good luck and then verify Dead By Daylight game file integrity by going to steam library and right click on Dead By Daylight choose properties then local files and then "Verify game file integrity" and let it do its thing it should grab EAC and then try to play again and see if that works.

If not no worries, dbd + steam can be an adventure to get working but we'll figure it out. :)

Wait you're starting it via steam library right? Not a shortcut, right? Game and/or EAC doesn't always like shortcuts, so steam library click on DBD then "Play" is the best way.
