However, if you're talking about the modified config .pak files that just flat out give you a bigger FOV that's not only scummy and hacking, but very easily identifiable and your computer has probably already been marked for a ban in the next wave.
For simple engine setting modification ... The safest option is : "at your own risk". So if you get ban you won't be unban.
But if you're replacing .pak files with edited versions that is already detectable and will get you EAC banned.
It completely breaks the ideals of how the game is supposed to work with terrain that blocks line of sight. It prevents the ability for the killer to have fair chases. It gives you information you shouldn't have which in turn makes chases easier.
You can learn to be a very good survivor and not use SR.
Just play the game as it's intended to be played and deal with the pro's and con's of it.

My suggestion is to buy a standard monitor and not try to game on some ultra wide specialty monitor.
Just stick to stretching your resolution. "Use at your own risk" but no one I've heard of that does it has ever been banned.
